Free agent reliever Brendan Donnelly is hoping he won't have to settle for another minor league contract this offseason. Donnelly signed a minor league deal with the Rangers last spring and eventually wound up in south Florida. He went 3-0 with a 1.78 ERA, striking out 25 batters in 25 1/3 innings for the Marlins, but he's 38 years old and the current economic climate hasn't been too friendly to veterans. "I can't imagine having to take a Minor League deal this year," said the right-hander. "I think I've answered the questions that need to b answered on the field."
