The Rockies felt they had a shot at getting Ian Snell before the deadline, but the Pirates wanted Franklin Morales and prospects Esmil Rogers and Chris Nelson for him. It's not an astronomical price, as both prospects would be found in the second half of Colorado's top 10. Snell's stock has fallen some this year, but so has that of Morales.
