Jesus Flores underwent arthroscopic surgery on his elbow in addition to the previous surgery to repair a torn right labrum. Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo said the elbow surgery will not make a difference in Flores' progress, and the 24-year-old is expected to be ready for spring training. The Nationals have been thought to be seeking a backup catcher they are comfortable with starting (unlike Josh Bard and Wil Nieves), which makes one wonder how confident they are in Flores' recovery.
