Adam Lind (back) is expected to be the designated hitter Wednesday in an extended spring training game. Lind took approximately 50 swings Monday and also ran in the pool for 20 minutes after completing baseball activities. "What we have to continue to do is ramp up the intensity, and the volume, and be sure that there is not any recurrence of that soreness, and then get him back in games and ultimately back with us," said Blue Jays manager John Farrell. "We're hopeful it's sometime in the upcoming homestand." Farrell indicated that Lind may get some starts at designated hitter upon his return from the disabled list in order to lessen his workload.
