The Twins are "very much willing" to trade starter Kevin Slowey, according to ESPN.com's Buster Olney. Slowey, 26, is competing for the fifth starter spot with Scott Baker and appears to be on the outside looking in. Minneapolis Star-Tribune columnist Jim Souhan wrote that Slowey was "a logical candidate" to be dealt on Friday after speaking with scouts and executives. In other words, there is plenty of smoke drifting around these rumors. Slowey will pitch on a one-year, $2.7 million contract this season after going 13-6 last season with a 4.45 ERA over 155 2/3 innings while battling numerous injuries. He's under team control through 2013. Expect the Yankees and Cardinals, amongst others, to give the Twins a ring. Mar. 6 - 11:34 am et Source:ESPN Insider
