Freddie Freeman went 3-for-3 with three doubles and a run scored as the Braves and Mets played to a 5-5 tie in 10 innings on Saturday.
That's what you like to see. They weren't all screamers, but Freeman sprayed the ball all over the outfield. He also showed good hustle, scampering to third base on a poor throw from Fernando Martinez in right field. The 21-year-old first baseman is unlikely to hit 20 homers in his rookie campaign, limiting his impact in shallow mixed leagues, but he should be able to hit for a palatable batting average and drive in his fair share of runs from the bottom part of the order.
