Patrick Newman of NPB Tracker reports that Japanese left-hander Hisanori Takahashi is drawing interest from major league teams. Takahashi, 34, recently declared himself a free agent after completing his 10th season with the Yomiuri Giants. Newman cites reports out of Japan that have linked him to the Giants and Rangers, however he has been quoted as saying he'd like to end up on the same team as former Yomiuri teammate Hideki Matsui. That's probably unlikely. Takahashi was 79-66 with a 3.70 ERA in 245 career games for the Giants. Though he was a starter in Japan, Newman thinks that the soft-tossing lefty is best suited as a reliever in the NL West. Nov. 23 - 10:01 am et Source:NPB Tracker
