Richard Griffin of the Toronto Star writes that surgery on Drew Hutchison's right elbow is a "strong possibility." A second opinion from Dr. Timothy Kremchek has confirmed the original diagnosis of a sprained ulnar collateral ligament. The problem, though, is that the ligament could become worse during exercise and rehab, and Hutchison would wind up going under the knife months from now. "That's probably the scenarios that he's walking through, once the information is collected," Blue Jays manager John Farrell said. "To best determine what to do next. I'm not saying that's completely ruled out, but at this point he probably needs a day or two to work through on his own behalf and certainly discussing things with his family."
