Anderson Varejao: Cavs match Bobcats' offer for Varejao

    Anderson Varejao - F/C - CLE - Dec. 5 - 11:46 am et

The Cavaliers matched the Charlotte Bobcats' contract offer sheet signed by Anderson Varejao, GM Danny Ferry said Wednesday morning, meaning Varejao is now under contract with the Cavaliers.
Varejao is expected to report to the team by the weekend and once he and his teammates work out their differences about some of Varejao's offseason comments, he should be ready to resume his role off the bench. It might take him a couple weeks to get up to speed, but don't expect any miracles, as the starting job still belongs to Drew Gooden. To make room for Varejao on the 15-man roster, the Cavs waived guard/forward Demetris Nichols, who played in three games. Dec. 5 - 11:46 am et
