An Italian website recently reported that Spurs draft pick James Gist had signed a contract to play overseas, but the Spurs have denied that report. A team source said Gist has not yet signed with any team overseas, leaving open the possibility he still could begin next season in San Antonio. If Gist were to sign with a foreign team, the Spurs would retain his NBA rights.
