New Orleans Hornets owner Tom Benson confirmed the team will be known as the Pelicans starting next season. New Orleans' name change might have been the NBA's worst kept secret this side of Los Angeles. The name makes some sense, with Louisiana being "The Pelican State," although the menacing Pelican in the new logo is a little laughable. With the change official, the Charlotte Bobcats will reportedly evaluate the possibility of returning to the Hornets moniker, although nothing final has been decided.
