The Bucs signed QB Rudy Carpenter off the Cowboys' practice squad, which may be a sign that Byron Leftwich will soon be gone. Carpenter was signed by the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Arizona State. Leftwich went 0-3 as the Bucs starter to open the season after beating out Luke McCown in training camp. He is now the team's No. 3 quarterback but hasn't practiced in the past several weeks due to tendinitis in his right elbow. Leftwich may be running out of options in the league.
