Citing a source with knowledge of the situation, Profootballtalk.com reports that the Seahawks and free agent Marshawn Lynch are "not close" to striking a long-term contract agreement. Discussions are ongoing, but there's been no "breakthrough," and Lynch is fully expected to be franchise tagged if the sides can't come to an accord. Lynch is coming off a breakout year in his fifth NFL season, so Seattle has every reason to be wary of making major commitments to him long term. Lynch also has a significant amount of wear on his tires for a 26-year-old rusher. Feb. 26 - 12:51 pm et Source:Profootballtalk on NBC Sports
