Former Redskins executive Vinny Cerrato says the team nearly traded up for LeSean McCoy in the 2009 draft. The way Cerrato tells it, he was ready to pull the trigger on a trade with an undisclosed team to move into position to select McCoy before then-RBs coach Stump Mitchell said he didn't want him. Cerrato went on to resign from his position of Executive Vice President of Football Operations seven months later. We'd say McCoy ended up in the right place.
