North Carolina DE Quinton Coples, who entered the 2011 season as the top-rated senior prospect for the 2012 draft, was accused by UNC insiders of "playing not to get injured" for much of his final year. The entire UNC roster seemed to be efforting to avoid injury against Missouri in the Independence Bowl. Coples' conservative play may have resulted in slight production dip, going from 10 sacks and 15.5 tackles for loss as a junior to 15.0 and 7.5 as a senior, respectively. Coples' numbers jumped in the Tar Heels' final few games. According to SI.com draft analyst Tony Pauline, Coples "did not play with a sense of urgency" as a senior. He's still a likely top-15 pick.
