The Bears reportedly projected third-round S Brandon Hardin as a starter "in the near future." Young FS Chris Conte and SS Major Wright have shown promise, but Hardin wasn't drafted to play special teams. A former college cornerback, Hardin goes 6-foot-3, 222 and is being projected internally as a free safety.
