Brad Richards: Report: Richards turned down Stars offers

    Brad Richards - C - CHI - Jun. 6 - 11:12 am et

The Dallas Stars reportedly offered Brad Richards' two contracts before the trade deadline comparable to the ones signed by Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau.
Thornton inked a three-year/$21 million deal and Marleau signed a four-year/$27.6 million contract. If the report is true than it suggests that Richards wasn't interest in giving the Stars even a moderate hometown discount, perhaps because of the uncertain nature of the Stars' ownership situation, especially at the time. Richards will likely seek a five-plus year deal worth at least $7 million per season. The Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Rangers, and Tampa Bay Lightning are some of the teams that might bid on Richards this summer. Stay tuned. Jun. 6 - 11:12 am et
