Ron Hainsey said that the NHLPA will present the league with a counter-proposal to their latest offer in the next few days. "Now we're working on a couple of frameworks so it's slightly easier to get counter-proposals back and forth," he said. "Obviously, a deadline is a deadline and as people move closer to one it obviously plays a part." The NHL has made their intentions clear that it will lock out the players on Sept. 15 if a new CBA isn't reached, so both sides are working more intensely now with August almost over.
