Evgeni Malkin: Malkin highest scoring Russian in playoffs

    Evgeni Malkin - C - PIT - Jun. 4 - 8:47 am et

Evgeni Malkin broke the record for most points by a Russian in a single playoffs.
The previous record was held by the dynamic Pavel Bure, who collected 31 points in 1994 during Vancouver's Stanley Cup loss to the New York Rangers. Malkin, at 33 points thus far, is also the first player to crack the 30 point barrier in the post-season since 1996 when Joe Sakic collected 34 points with the Avalanche. It looks like Malkin will have a tougher challenge to put up points in game four with the expected return of fellow Russian Pavel Datsyuk to Detroit's lineup. Wayne Gretzky owns the single season playoff scoring record with 47 points in just 18 games. Jun. 4 - 8:47 am et
