Thomas Greiss: Greiss disappointed with Niemi signing

    Thomas Greiss - G - NYI - Sep. 3 - 8:50 am et

Thomas Greiss is disappointed that the Sharks signed Antti Niemi to a one-year deal.
Greiss was hoping to enter the season battling Antero Niittymaki for the number one goaltending job and certainly play more than the 16 times he did last year as the departed Evgeni Nabokov's backup. But the move to sign Niemi pushes Greiss to third on the depth charts and the possibility that he will start the season in the minors or be traded. "I talked with (GM) Doug (Wilson) about it," Greiss said. "We'll see what happens." Stay tuned. Sep. 3 - 8:50 am et
