Attorneys for both Patrick Kane and cabdriver Jan Radecki downplayed the recent accusations made against Kane. Kane and his cousin have been charged with second-degree robbery, fourth-degree criminal mischief, and theft of services for an incident on Sunday. Kane's lawyer said his client had not committed a crime, but what's more telling is the statements made by the cabdriver's lawyer, Andrew LoTempio, claims that the entire incident had been blown out of proportion. "It's a dispute over a cab fee, and unfortunately Mr. Radecki didn't recognize Mr. Kane and just thought they were a couple of college kids," LoTempio said. "We should be able to work things out." That seems to be in contrast of his clients earlier claims that Kane and his cousin broke his glasses, ripped his clothes, and kept pounding on him when Radecki couldn't provide correct change for $15 on a $13.80 cab fare. LoTempio suggested that part of the problem may have stemmed from Buffalo cabdrivers' usual policy of locking doors to make sure they receive payment. Stay tuned.
