Cody Hodgson needs medical clearance for his injured back before he returns to the ice for the start of rookie training camp. Hodgson, an early favorite for the Calder Trophy, injured his back in mid-July. "The reports we've received from doctors out east is that he's progressing but until we actually get our eyes on him, we won't know," assistant GM Laurence Gilman said. "The one thing we're not going to do is risk further injury by putting him on the ice too early." Expect Hodgson to be cleared by the Canucks doctors. The talented center should crack the lineup and should be drafted in all keeper leagues. He should get 40-50 points this season and that will make him draft worthy late in one year pools as well.
