Jamie McBain is expected to be out of action for three to four weeks with a shoulder injury.
That means he may not play again this year unless the Hurricanes make the playoffs. He was hurt in Friday's game against Washington. McBain had five goals, 25 points and a minus-9 rating in 68 games from the Carolina blueline this season.
