Anders Nilsson has a clause in his contract that would allow him to play in Sweden again this year, but he wants to remain in North America. "My only focus is to stay here and compete for a job," Nilsson said after practice on Wednesday. "I don't have any thoughts about going back. I want to stay here and if it doesn't work out, then I'm going to go to Bridgeport and do my best to get back to the Islanders." He is projected to compete with Kevin Poulin for starts at the AHL level this season, while Mikko Koskinen will probably be loaned to an ECHL squad. All of them are still at camp with the Islanders, but their demotions are expected to come shorty. Sep. 29 - 9:05 am et Source:Isles Files
