Scott Arniel: Hitchcock option taken from the Blue Jackets

    Scott Arniel - C - NYR - Nov. 7 - 10:32 am et

The Columbus Blue Jackets lost a potential option for a replacement coach when the St. Louis Blues hired Ken Hitchcock.
There have been rumors circling that GM Scott Howson and coach Scott Arniel will be fired and that former Jackets coach Ken Hitchcock will be brought back. Obviously, that won't happen now that the Blues have scooped up Hitchcock. In a way, this can be seen as another defeat for a team that has already suffered far too many of them. Despite trying to bolster their team in the off-season, the Blue Jackets are 2-11-1 this season. They've never been this bad after 14 games before and for a team that's only made the playoffs once, that's saying something. It's true that the Blue Jackets have dealt with some significant injuries and suspensions, but it's hard to justify a record that terrible under any circumstances. Nov. 7 - 10:32 am et
