Olli Maatta (illness) participated in Wednesday's practice.

Maatta will be available for Wednesday's contest against Vancouver. That's not surprising given that Maatta had been playing through the sickness, but it is worth confirming because he had recently missed some practices.

Carter Rowney (hand) is a game-time decision on Wednesday, per Penguins coach Mike Sullivan.

Rowney has a goal and an assist in nine games this season. He was last able to play on Oct. 21.

Kyle Palmieri suffered a broken foot against Minnesota on Nov. 20.

Palmieri is expected to be sidelined for four-to-six weeks. He has already been limited to 13 appearances this year because of injuries and can't seem to catch a break in terms of his health. Palmieri has been productive when he's been in the lineup with four goals and nine points.

Luca Sbisa (lower body) is getting better, but he isn't ready to return yet.

Sbisa did not make the trip for Wednesday's contest against Anaheim, but coach Gerard Gallant is encouraged by the defenseman's progress. This will be his fourth straight game on the sidelines with a lower-body injury.

Colton Parayko chipped in two assists in Tuesday's 8-3 win against Edmonton.

Parayko got off to a slow start offensively this year, but he has heated up of late. He has produced one goal and four helpers during a four-game point streak. Parayko has 10 points in 22 outings this campaign.
