Shane Vereen provided 18 yards on three carries while grabbing one-of-two targets for nine yards Thursday in the Giants’ Week 12 loss to the Redskins.

His lone catch came with 1:49 remaining in the fourth quarter. Vereen has seen a combined nine touches over his last two games and hasn’t visited the end zone since Week 3 of 2016. As the third-string running back on a bad offense, there’s not much fantasy value here. Vereen can be safely ignored next week when the Giants travel to Oakland.

Eli Manning completed 13-of-27 passes for 113 yards and one interception Thursday in the Giants’ Week 12 loss to the Redskins.

Eli took four sacks for a loss of 27 yards. Manning was doomed from the start playing without Sterling Shepard (migraines) and never got on the same page with Evan Engram (three catches for 18 yards on seven targets). He only made it to the red zone once and ended the game by throwing a pitiful interception into double coverage. Even with all his weapons, Manning is hit-or-miss. Without them, he can barely function. Manning gets a glorious matchup against Oakland in Week 13, though his streaming appeal hinges on Shepard's availability.

Kirk Cousins completed 19-of-31 passes for 242 yards with two touchdowns and one interception while adding four yards on three carries Thursday in the Redskins’ Week 12 win over the Giants.

He was also sacked six times for a loss of 41 yards. Cousins didn’t have his best stuff on Thursday night, which was understandable given the short week. It didn’t help that the Redskins were playing without pass-catching back Chris Thompson and star tight end Jordan Reed. Cousins made lemonade out of lemons, showing a strong connection with Jamison Crowder (7-141-1) while also finding Josh Doctson for the go-ahead touchdown with under four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. Cousins’ interception—which Janoris Jenkins returned for a 52-yard touchdown—wasn’t his fault as the ball deflected off Byron Marshall. The main complaint was that Cousins held onto the ball too long, which is something he’ll need to iron out for next week’s game at Dallas.

Samaje Perine compiled 100 yards on 24 carries while contributing three catches for 30 yards on four targets Thursday in the Redskins’ Week 12 win over the Giants.

It was a tale of two halves for Perine, who was positively dreadful before the break (three yards on five carries) but excellent after halftime. Perine also helped out in the passing game, though he did commit an ugly drop early in the first quarter. The rookie has now reached 100 yards rushing in back-to-back games and has looked surprisingly good doing it. He’ll be safe to roll out as an RB2 next week at Dallas.

Josh Doctson nabbed two-of-four targets for 28 yards and a touchdown Thursday in the Redskins’ Week 12 win over the Giants.

Doctson salvaged the night for his fantasy owners by hauling in a 14-yard touchdown strike from Kirk Cousins with 3:39 remaining in the fourth quarter. It was an impressive catch against tight coverage from Janoris Jenkins. Doctson made a mental mistake on his first catch, running out of bounds instead of extending for what should have been an easy first down. He also drew a pass interference flag that moved the Redskins up 37 yards late in the first half. The 2016 first-rounder gets another favorable draw next week against the Cowboys. Still, he’s just a boom-or-bust WR3/4.
Nov 24 - 12:11 AM

Jamison Crowder pulled in seven-of-10 targets for 141 yards and a touchdown Thursday in the Redskins’ Week 12 win over the Giants.

Crowder was an absolute powerhouse on Thursday and a badly needed source of offense for a team running on fumes. Both teams looked lethargic playing on a short week but Crowder was sharp as ever, putting the Redskins on his back with four catches for 90 yards after halftime. Crowder’s 15-yard touchdown in the third quarter was his first since Week 13 of last season while his 141 yards represented a new career-high. He hurt his knee in the fourth quarter but only missed a few snaps. Now firmly entrenched as Kirk Cousins’ go-to target, Crowder will be in the WR2 mix next Thursday night at Dallas.
