Ryan Tannehill (shoulder) will return as Dolphins starter for Week 12 against the Colts.

It will be Tannehill's first start since Week 5. The Dolphins have lost Albert Wilson and Jakeem Grant in the interim but regained DeVante Parker. Brock Osweiler's play has predictably fallen off a cliff after some initial competence, so Tannehill's return will be quite welcome as the Dolphins try to stay alive in the AFC playoff race. Managing games before going down, Tannehill will be a fringe QB2 with his banged up supporting cast.

The Miami Herald believes the "smart money" is on Ryan Tannehill (shoulder) returning for Week 12.

Tannehill did an extensive amount of throwing during Tuesday's practice. Coach Adam Gase is expected to update his status Tuesday afternoon. Brock Osweiler has predictably gone all the way off the rails in Tannehill's absence. Tannehill will be returning to an injury-depleted supporting cast but will still be a sizable upgrade.

Chiefs SS Eric Berry (heel) is feeling "quite a bit better."

"We'll see how this next week goes for him," coach Andy Reid said of the Chiefs' Week 12 bye. The former All-Pro has yet to play this season after tearing his Achilles' tendon in 2017. In theory, he would provide quite a boost for the Chiefs' beleaguered defense, but it's unclear what they could expect from the 30-year-old at this juncture.

Bears coach Matt Nagy said Mitchell Trubisky (shoulder) is "day to day."

ESPN's Adam Schefter just reported the Bears are "optimistic" Trubisky will play on Thanksgiving, but Nagy did not sound as sunny during his press conference. While he ruled out a long-term injury, the coach said Trubisky is "in pain" and unlikely to practice on Tuesday. Trubisky looks legitimately questionable at this point. Chase Daniel is the backup in Chicago.

Derek Anderson (concussion) returned to practice Tuesday.

It is his first practice since suffering a concussion in Week 8. With Josh Allen trending toward playing, Anderson will be the No. 2 at best if he is able to get cleared.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Bears are "optimistic" Mitchell Trubisky (shoulder) will play Thanksgiving against the Lions.

Trubisky suffered a shoulder injury on one of the final plays of Chicago's win Sunday night. Facing about as short of a week as possible -- Sunday night to Thursday morning -- the injury is a concern despite this report. If he plays, Trubisky will be a great option against the Lions' struggling defense.

Falcons coach Dan Quinn said Deion Jones (foot) is moving well, but they still want to see him generate more power.

Jones has been out since undergoing foot surgery following the season opener. He is going to participate in some capacity during Tuesday's practice, but it sounds like he is a longshot to play on Thanksgiving. One of Atlanta's best players on defense, Jones will be a big boost once he is able to return.

Eagles OC Mike Groh said incorporating Golden Tate into the offense has been difficult.

Despite a bye week following the trade, Tate's career in Philadelphia has started off slowly. He did see a big bump in playing time against the Saints, however, and ended up leading the team in targets (8), catches (5), and yards (48). Even so, this trade is looking like a mistake, especially with the Eagles falling out of the playoff race.
