Sunderland have agreed a loan deal for Inter Milan midfielder Zdravko Kuzmanovic, but fear Everton could make an 11th-hour bid to scupper the move.

Paolo Di Canio has been looking for a playmaker for his midfield and Kuzmanovic is willing to go to Sunderland, but the Daily Express suggest he may be holding out for interest from the Toffees, who will move for the 25-year-old if they lose Marouane Fellaini. Sunderland are also interested in midfielder Michael Bradley from Roma and Swansea midfielder Ki Yeung-Sung as Di Canio looks to conclude the busiest transfer window for an individual club in the history of the Premier League. They will need to sell to buy, so Stephane Sessegnon could be on his way out.

Liverpool is reportedly in the advanced stages of securing a summer transfer for Southampton midfielder Sadio Mane.

The Reds have been in talks with Southampton over the past week and are close to agreeing to a fee in the range of £30 million. Southampton originally wanted £40 million for the 24-year-old bought for just £10 million from Salzberg in the summer of 2014, but the departure of Ronald Koeman has hastened negotiations over a summer move. The Senegalese international scored 11 goals last season in the Premier League but really found his form with eight goals in the final eight games of the season.

"Sky Sports" confirm that Norwich City midfielder Nathan Redmond is undergoing a medical at Southampton on Saturday.

Norwich City has reportedly accepted an £11 million bid for the 22-year-old as the Canaries are looking to sell their most valuable players as they face another season in the Championship after just one year back in the Premier League. Redmond scored six goals in 34 Premier League appearances last season and helped lead the England U21s to a Toulon Tournament title last month. Redmond is expected to replace Southampton star Sadio Mane as the midfielder is expected to join Liverpool in a £30 million-plus deal.

Luke Shaw is closing in on a return to action with the Manchester United full-back pencilled in to play in the International Champions Cup against Borussia Dortmund in July.

The 20-year-old was originally said to be targeting a place in United’s FA Cup final squad in May but following a minor setback, the then manager Louis van Gaal confirmed, Shaw would not be ready and instead would use the time to get ready for pre-season. Shaw posted a social media update this week confirming he was on track to re-join the main group when they return in early July: "Training done for the day. Building up to pre-season now." The left-back will be assessed before a decision is made on whether he will travel to Shanghai for United's first game of the summer and his first since suffering a double leg fracture in September 2015.

Harry Kane insists he feels "sharp" and "fresh" following criticism for his lacklustre performances at Euro 2016.

The Premier League hotshot is yet to score in the Championships and was way below par in the opener versus Russia, while manager Roy Hodgson only afforded Kane 45-minutes against Wales when he was hauled off at half-time. Kane was then rested for the draw with Slovakia but could return to the starting line-up on Monday when England face Iceland in the last-16: "I'm not tired, I'm 100 per cent fresh and I feel sharp, I feel ready," he said. "If called upon I'll be going out there and giving it 110 percent." Wayne Rooney and Adam Lallana will be checked ahead of the game after the pair picked up ankle injuries in training, although neither is believed to be serious. The Three Lions could face hosts France in the quarter-finals with a victory over the tournament outsiders.

After a couple of weeks of strong speculation, Victor Wanyama has officially departed from Southampton and joins Tottenham for a fee of about £11m.

Spurs get some early business done in the summer and get the man they have been pursuing since last offseason. Wanyama is a midfield enforcer, the type of player Mauricio Pochettino likes, so much so that it is the second time the manager has bought the Kenyan. Pochettino brought Wanyama to St. Mary's from Celtic back in 2013 in a season where the Saints achieved great success. Wanyama has little to offer in fantasy terms. Even in leagues that award for stats such as successful tackles, Wanyama has discipline issues and virtually no attacking threat. With a spot in Champions League, Pochettino now has flexibility with Eric Dier, Mousa Dembele and Wanyama in defensive midfield, though, with Dembele spending the first several weeks of the season on suspension, Wanyama should be starting straight away alongside Dier.

Stephen Ward faces a race against time to prove his fitness after picking up an ankle injury during the dramatic win over Italy.

The Burnley left-back missed the Group E opener with Sweden but has featured in the last two, affording Robbie Brady the opportunity to play in a more advanced role. And it was the Norwich City playmaker who grabbed the only goal of last night’s game as Brady latched onto a sublime cross from club and country teammate Wes Hoolahan to set up a last-16 tie with host nation France in Lyon this weekend. But, Ward’s availability currently hangs in the balance: "Stephen picked up an injury in the first half and his ankle is well blown up at the moment," Martin O’Neil said "but he’s desperate to play and we’ll have a look at him." Ireland are also hoping to have Jon Walters back as the Stoke forward battles to overcome an Achilles tendonitis problem.

Wayne Rooney moved quickly to allay injury concerns by confirming: "I’m fit. I am enjoying my football and the tournament, and really looking forward to the game on Monday."

Rooney was pictured with strapping around his left ankle after training on Thursday, however, the England captain dismissed any suggestion that he was at risk of missing the last-16 encounter with Iceland in four days. Rooney is one of a number of players who is expected to be recalled to the starting XI having dropped to the bench for the final Group B bore-draw with Slovakia. Roy Hodgson made six changes to the side which saw the likes of Harry Kane, Danny Rose, Kyle Walker and Dele Alli drop out, but following a disappointing performance in Saint-Etienne, the Three Lions boss could revert back to the side which beat Wales 2-1 with Rooney playing in central midfield.

Jamie Vardy has elected to sign an improved offer to stay at Leicester City rather than moving to Arsenal after the Gunners triggered his release clause earlier in the month.

Vardy, nearing his 30th birthday, realistically has one last chance to cash in on the amazing success of this past season. He has elected to do that at the King Power Stadium rather than at the Emirates. He left for the Euros with an offer to move to Arsenal for a significant pay raise. In the meantime, Leicester City have either matched or at least come close enough to matching to entice the forward to stay for the Foxes Champions League campaign. Arsenal's search for attacking reinforcements will have to continue elsewhere.

Alexis Sanchez and Chile will try for their second Copa America title in two summers when they face Argentina on Sunday.

The match itself was interrupted by lightning and heavy rains forcing a delay in the start of the second half. Fortunately for Chile they were already up 2-0 through goals from Charles Aranguiz and Jose Fuenzalida. Aranguiz latched on to a misplaced header by Juan Cuadrado for the opener on seven minutes. Alexis, as he has been so often was at the root of Chile's second goal putting a shot off the post from the top of the box. Jose Fuenzalida was in the right place to tap home the rebound for the final 2-0 scoreline.

Robbie Brady has cemented his status as an Irish folk hero for generations with his winner against Italy to send Ireland on to the knockout stages of Euro 2016.

Brady scored in the 85th minute of what looked for certain to be a nil-nil draw with group winners Italy on the final day of the group stages. The goal sent all of Ireland into a frenzy and ensured that one of the best stories of the tournament - Ireland's fantastic supporters charming the French countryside - will continue into the next round of the tournament at least. Even Roy Keane was smiling. Ireland will face hosts France in the early match on Sunday in Lyon.

Veteran midfielder Kari Arnason said Iceland will meet England "with full force" after his assist – for this evenings opening goal - helped the unfancied minnows to clinch second place in Group F with a 2-1 victory over Austria.

With Portugal and Hungary playing out a thrilling 3-3 draw, the stage looked to be set for Cristiano Ronaldo to face England in the last-16 knockout phase before substitute Amor Traustason popped up with 90+4 winner to leapfrog Portugal who are yet to win in the competition. Swansea playmaker Glyfi Sigurdsson will be relishing the opportunity of facing some of his Premier League counterparts while Aron Gunnarsson may feel he has a point to prove having plied his trade for one top flight season with Cardiff City before they were relegated to the second tier. The Three Lions will start massive favourites on the night but Iceland are yet to taste defeat at Euro 2016 and are more than capable of upsetting the apple cart.
