Crystal Palace are in talks to sign Nicklas Bendtner and have agreed fees for Jimmy Kebe and Jack Hunt, according to Sky Sports.

So Ian Holloway looks to finalise his transfer window business with another striker, midfielder and defender. Bendtner may have his doubters but he would be an excellent signing for any of the promoted clubs and along with Kebe, would bring some much needed experience to the Palace squad. Less is know about Jack Hunt, but the Huddersfield full-back is highly-rated and would help add some steal to a leaky defence.

Mame Biram Diouf is available to Mark Hughes after returning from the African Cup of Nations.

With Bojan out for the rest of the season with a knee injury Mark Hughes will be happy to have Diouf back in the line-up for the visit of Queens Park Rangers on Saturday. Diouf may not play the entire match due to travel-related fatigue but he is likely to figure in some way.

Maya Yoshida and Florin Gardos are in a battle to earn a start in Southampton's match against Swansea this weekend.

Yoshida just returned from international duty and will be challenging Gardos for a start. Gardos was benched earlier this month for playing poorly, but he looked much better once Yoshida was out for international duty. This will likely be a mystery up until lineups are announced and we don't feel good with either defender in formats where you can't change the lineup up until kickoff.

Sadio Mane could be fit to face Swansea on Sunday.

The Southampton was injured while on international duty but is now back and could challenge Eljero Elia and James Ward-Prowse for a starting spot. Elia played well during Mane's absence but wasn't as exceptional as he's hyped up to be and Mane will certainly challenge him for a starting spot. It's hard to trust either one in fantasy at the moment as they're likely to be rotated as the season goes on.

Chelsea striker Diego Costa has been banned for three matches after stamping on Liverpool's Emre Can.

No big surprise here after the FA were able to confirm what we all knew would happen to Chelsea's appeal. Costa will miss Saturday's Premier League meeting with title rivals Manchester City at Stamford Bridge as well as matches away at Aston Villa and home to Everton. Didier Drogba is being tipped to step in this weekend, although Loic Remy is another option.

James Ward-Prowse has signed a new contract that has him staying at Southampton until 2020.

The youngster has 17 appearances this season despite sitting out several weeks through injury and has appeared every bit as advertised. He rose through the ranks of Southampton's system and has been fantastic this season. This is a great sign for Southampton, who have a good piece for the future in the 20 year old and someone they could potentially sell for a big profit. Ward-Prowse is a good fantasy option as he will likely start again if Morgan Schneiderlin and Victor Wanyama continue missing time.

The Press Association is reporting that Scott Sinclair's long-rumored loan move to Aston Villa is on and will be completed in the next 24 hours.

The move has been the definition of on-again-off-again but it appears that good sense will prevail in the form of a move that appears to benefit all parties. Sinclair hasn't played much since his move the Manchester City and Aston Villa need somebody, anybody, who can help them score a few more goals. Sounds like a match made in heaven to us. Maybe Villa's matches will be something closer to watchable as a result. It certainly takes Sinclair's value from zero to at least something in the same way that Joleon Lescott's move from City to West Brom did for Lescott.

Steve Bruce's striker crisis could be easing a little earlier than expected with the news that both Nikica Jelavic and Abel Hernandez could return earlier than expected this week.

Both Nikica Jelavic and Abel Hernandez were ruled out for 4 to 6 weeks in early January but today comes news that both are close to being fit enough and could participate in Hull City's Week 23 match against Newcastle at the KC Stadium. Hull City have been in rotten form but the visit of struggling Newcastle represents an opportunity to climb out of the relegation zone. Bruce will probably push as hard as he can to get both forwards cleared for action.

Steve Bruce has indicated that Abel Hernandez may be fit to play a role against Newcastle in Saturday's early kick-off.

Hernandez had initially been ruled out for four to six weeks taking his lay-off well into February but apparently he has recovered faster than expected and might be fit enough to play a part on Saturday. Hull City certainly need the goals if Hernandez can get fit but it is no sure thing. For fantasy managers trying to figure out your strategy, you may have time to add Hernandez in salary cap leagues before the transfer deadline expires because this is the first match of the weekend. Regardless, he is only a fringe starter to be considered if he is particularly cheap and playing weak opposition.

Swansea have agreed to terms with Southampton for the purchase of defensive midfielder Jack Cork.

More shrewd and probably wise dealings from the brass at the Liberty Stadium as they were able to acquire Cork for a discount as his contract with the Saints was to run out this summer. Cork was always battling for pitch time but found himself third in the pecking order behind Morgan Schneiderlin and Victor Wanyama. He should eventually unseat veteran Leon Britton to partner Ki Sung-Yueng in the double pivot behind Gylfi Sigurdsson. Southampton actually host Swansea on Sunday, so it will be interesting to see if Cork will be available or if Southie may make the deal with the caveat that Cork can not be used against them on Sunday.

ESPNFC.com is reporting that Chelsea will land transfer target Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina with Mohamed Salah headed in the opposite direction.

Reports of Cuadrado's arrival had been making their rounds for a couple weeks without ever feeling like they were going anywhere but that changed Thursday as club sources told ESPNFC.com that the move would happen in the next 48 hours. Cuadrado will replace the disappointing combination of Salah and Andre Schurrle who have both been in Jose Mourinho's doghouse this season. The arrival of Cuadrado may force Chelsea to sell Schurrle sooner rather than later to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.

Paul Dummett has been formally ruled out of action for Newcastle United when they face Hull City on Saturday.

Tough break for anyone looking at Dummett as a sneaky bargain pick against an abysmal Tigers attack. There is no timetable regarding his hamstring to accompany the news of his absence this weekend but one would expect that to mean he will be in contention to return next weekend. Meanwhile, Davide Santon is fit again and will be pushing for his first league start of the season.
