Steven Pienaar has already been ruled out for Saturday's match against West Ham and could be set to miss more PL games as he recovers from a hamstring injury.

The injury was picked up in training ahead of Everton's win over Chelsea the previous weekend. It allowed teammate Steven Naismith an opportunity to get the start, and Naismith wound up scoring the game-winner. Still, the South African international has been a nailed on option for the Toffees for most of the past several seasons and will be missed. Naismith stands to benefit in Pienaar's absence.

Stoke City left back Erik Pieters will be available again for the Potters in Week 36 after serving his two match suspension.

Bad news for Sunderland as Stoke City will have at least one of their recently-absent defenders back for the visit of the Black Cats. Pieters served a two match suspension for the accumulation of ten yellow cards and the Black Cats were poor while he was out dropping consecutive 4-0 decisions to Spurs and Manchester City. Pieters absence wasn't the only issue as they lost 4-1 to Liverpool in the match he picked up his 10th yellow so his return is certainly no panacea.

Xherdan Shaqiri is, once again, an uncertain prospect to start as he returns from a minor hamstring issue that kept him out of last weekend's 4-0 loss to Manchester City.

Shaqiri has returned to training and seems likely to figure against visiting Sunderland but with little of substance to play for Mark Hughes would be justified in babying the winger a little bit as he returns from injury. Shaqiri's highest value to the Potters comes next season and the extent to which Hughes can contribute to the player being ready in August there is a line of logic that says "don't push it" for a meaningless match.

Marko Arnautovic faces a late fitness test ahead of Stoke City's Week 36 match with Sunderland at the Britannia.

With Arnautovic and Xherdan Shaqiri both questionable the Stoke City attack could look anywhere from formidable to pretty weak. The Potters don't have a great deal of depth in the wide areas of attack that Arnautovic and Shaqiri usually take up. Ibrahim Affelay is one option but there isn't really a strong alternative for the second spot if both fail to pass their fitness tests. This could be a huge opportunity for the Black Cats if Stoke City are depleted going forward and weak at the back (see 12 goals allowed in the past three matches).

Mauricio Pochettino has announced that he has made a verbal agreement with Tottenham to continue as manager for the next five seasons, extending his current deal an extra two years.

Ink has yet to be put to paper but Pochettino further stated the contract will be signed either tomorrow or Tuesday of next week, with the boss focusing on the derby with Chelsea between Sunday and Monday night. Pochettino has led Spurs to their best season since the advent of the season and with the young talent at his disposal, the future looks bright. The Argentine boss had plenty of rumors floating that he could leave in the summer, with the most buzz suggesting he could take over at PSG. Details of the contract are as of yet unclear, but reports indicate he will be the highest-paid manager in club history. It would be hard to argue that he does not deserve it.

Jurgen Klopp made it known that Philippe Coutinho's early withdraw from Liverpool's loss to Villareal yesterday evening was due to an illness, putting his status for Sunday against Swansea City in doubt.

Klopp did not elaborate on Coutinho's condition, only to simply say the midfielder was ill. This could turn out to be very good or very bad news for fantasy managers hoping to use him this weekend against the Swans. The good news is, if Coutinho's illness is not severe, his shortened shift in the Europa League could increase his chances of starting on Sunday. The bad news, of course, is that Klopp may call on another option if he thinks Coutinho is not back in good health. While it is always nice to think optimistically, the fact is Coutinho is very hard to trust these days in fantasy. In his last four league starts, he has been outstanding, delivering three goals and three assists. The problem is, those games are sandwiched around five games where he did not start.

Eric Black confirmed Ciaran Clark is ready to return this weekend but Kieran Richardson will remain on the side-lines.

The pair missed last weekends’ home defeat to Southampton after sustaining injuries on the eve of the match, but while Clark has been passed fit for the trip to Vicarage Road – Richardson is struggling to shake off a calf problem. "Ciaran is doing okay now," revealed Black after the defender re-joined the group in training on Thursday. "Apart from that, Kieran Richardson hasn't recovered in time from his calf injury." Micah Richards is facing a race against time to be fit for this weekend: "We will see if he is ready," said the caretaker boss.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez is holding out hope that Phil Jagielka can return from a hamstring injury for the season finale against Norwich.

Jagielka was somehow able to face Manchester United in the club's FA Cup semifinal loss over the weekend despite not being medically cleared to return from a hamstring injury against Watford at the beginning of the month. But Martinez said that the club will monitor the captain after he aggravated the injury against United: "Obviously, he is going to be missing for a few games now and it is too early to tell whether or not that will be the end of his season or if he will make the final game of the campaign [against Norwich City]." But Martinez will have to find a replacement, likely Muhamed Besic, for this weekend with Ramiro Funes Mori suspended.

Crystal Palace will wait on the fitness of winger Wilfried Zaha ahead of the weekend match against a fellow relegation candidate in Newcastle.

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew said Zaha has a 50 percent chance of being available after picking up the injury following the club's FA Cup semifinal win against Watford over the weekend. Said Pardew before his first trip back to Newcastle since leaving the club last year: "We have a slight concern over Zaha," said Pardew. "Other than that, everybody else is fit and well. In Wilf's case we're just going to have to monitor him over the next 48 hours, he has a slight injury." If Zaha can't go, Pardew could opt for the steady presence of Joe Ledley, which would push Jason Puncheon to the wing, or another winger in Bakary Sako.

Swansea City will be without Alberto Paloschi and Leroy Fer this weekend when they host Liverpool and the duo are a doubt to play again this season.

Both players were brought into the Welsh club during the January window, Paloschi as a transfer and Fer on a loan deal, and neither could really help turn things around for the Swans. Since arriving in time for Wewk 24, Paloschi has two goals to his credit while Fer notched two assists. The Swans look safe to stay up this season but have really fallen off the cliff the past couple of weeks, losing to Newcastle and Leicester by a combined score of 7-0. Bafetimbi Gomis has a chance to lead the line again for the Jacks though Andrew Ayew could be deployed up top. Ki Sung-Yueng has been a peripheral figure the past couple of months and may get an opportunity now to see more pitch time in the midfield.

Rafa Benitez revealed that he does not expect to have the services of defenders Fabricio Coloccini or Daryl Janmaat for Newcastle United's remaining three games.

Janmaat would have to wear a protective cast over his fractured hand, which he recently had surgery on, while additionally recovering from a groin injury. With positive displays by Vurnon Anita at right back, Benitez seems satisfied with letting Janmaat heal and counting on Anita. Coloccini ends his season unceremoniously, having suffered a setback to his calf injury which has kept him out since mid-February. With Benitez certain to exercise his opt-out clause should the Magpies be relegated, Coloccini may very well not step foot on the pitch once to play for the manager.

Jurgen Klopp revealed in his press conference ahead of Liverpool's Europa League tie with Villareal that striker Christian Benteke is fit an available for selection.

Benteke is fully recovered from knee ligament damage that kept him out of action for a month and offers much-needed depth at the striker position now that Divock Origi is sidelined. Benteke has been a big disappointment in his first season at Anfield but that will not stop Klopp from trying to extract the most he can from the Belgian. Daniel Sturridge will almost certainly be the starter for both legs of the Europa League semifinal and is the preferred option in league play, but with a heavy schedule, it is possible we see Benteke start one of the last four league games to preserve Sturridge. This will not be good news for Sturridge owners in fantasy but he will certainly have value down the stretch regardless. Benteke cannot be counted on for more than one start at this point, and should remain off of fantasy rosters.
