Marouane Fellaini's debut with Manchester United was an auspicious one with his new side winning 4-2.

Wayne Rooney may have been the star of the show but the new midfield of Marouane Fellaini and Shinji Kagawa conspired to control possession. That possession led to a dominant performance that could have seen United score as many as six goals against credible competition. This will be big news ahead of the Manchester Derby with both combatants having been less than impressive in over the first four weeks of the season. The next question to be answered relative to Fellaini will be exactly how his role translates into fantasy statistics.

Huddersfield Town has confirmed goalkeeper Luke Coddington has completed a permanent move to League 1 side Northampton Town.

The 22-year-old joins Northampton Town on two-year deal after just one season at at the John Smith Stadium. While Coddington leaves on a free transfer, Town and the League 1 side did agree to a future sell-on fee. During his year with the Huddersfield the 'keeper failed to make a single competitive first-team appearance for the Terriers and spent time on loan at National League side AFC Wrexham. Coddington's departure means Ryan Schofield will now compete with Joel Coleman for the backup role behind number one Jonas Lossl.

Virgil Van Dijk is still training away from Southampton first team and refuses to back down from the transfer request he lodged last week.

When asked about the ongoing mess in a press conference, Mauricio Pellegrino said: "The Virgil situation nothing has changed. It is the same like last week. I don’t have anything to say." On Wednesday, club chairman Ralph Krueger said that it was key for Southampton to hold firm on the issue to make a statement so that the world knew they are no longer a selling club. "It’s not about him, it’s about an overall much, much, much bigger picture – a change of course for Southampton," he explained. Van Dijk has not appeared for The Saints since January when he suffered a season ending injury. His absence from professional football has now begun to clearly affect his career, with the centre-back now being dropped from The Netherland's international squad. In the same press conference, Pellegrino confirmed that his squad has a clean bill of health ahead of West Ham's visit to St Mary's on Saturday for PL GW2.

Leicester City midfielders Danny Drinkwater and Vicente Iborra did not take part in training on Thursday.

With just two days remaining until Leicester's first home match of the season against Brighton, there was no sign of either midfielder in a video of the Foxes training on Thursday. While Drinkwater (thigh) and Iborra (groin) both missed out on the 4-3 defeat to Arsenal through injury, manager Craig Shakespeare had said ahead of Week 1 they could be fit to return against the Seagulls. Should Shakespeare reveal at tomorrow's press conference Drinkwater and Iborra will be unavailable this weekend, Matty James could be handed another start alongside Wilfred Ndidi in central midfield.

Manuel Lanzini has been ruled out of West Ham's trip to Southampton this weekend but is in line to return for Week 3 against Newcastle.

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic had hoped that Lanzini would be ready to make his season debut at Southampton but the trip to the St. Mary's Stadium has come too soon for the Argentine playmaker. However, Bilic revealed the 24-year-old is expected to return to full training next week with a view to be ready for the club's trip to St James' Park. Speaking ahead of Saturday's match at Southampton, BIlic said: "Manu is training individually and he is joining us on Monday, so we are going to have a full squad back for the Newcastle game." With Lanzini unavailable for Week 2, Edimilson Fernandez and Andre Ayew will be in contention for another start, while Michail Antonio will also be in the conversation after recovering from a hamstring injury.

While Michail Antonio is ready to return to action against Southampton, Saturday's fixture at the St Mary's Stadium has come too soon for midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate and center forward Andy Carroll.

Though neither player will be fit for Week 2, manager Slaven Bilic has revealed the pair were back in full training this week and are in line to return to the squad at Newcastle next Saturday. Kouyate has been out since the start of the pre-season because of a knee problem, while Carroll has been working his way back from a hip injury that has sidelined him since April. This means Mark Noble and Perdo Obiang are expected to start as defensive midfielders, with Javier Hernandez to hold his place upfront against Southampton. Said Bilic on Thursday: "We will have Mikey back 100 per cent for this game [at Southampton], but for Cheikhou and for Andy, it’s a bit too early, I think."

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has declared that midfielder Francis Coquelin has recovered sufficiently from his pre-season ankle injury to be included in the side for the Week 2 match against Stoke City.

Coquelin picked up a relatively minor ankle injury during the pre-season but appears to have recovered from that injury. It seems that, regardless of his health, he is currently considered a reserve at the base of midfield behind Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey. He may be behind Mohamed Elneny in the pecking order as well but that is less clear. The expectation should be that Coquelin only starts in the event of an injury to either Xhaka or Ramsey and that he will likely be used to close out matches where Xhaka has picked up a yellow card heading into the final 20 or 30 minutes.

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has confirmed that winger Michail Antonio will return to the squad for Saturday's trip to Southampton.

Antonio will be welcomed back in Bilic's squad after recovering from a hamstring injured suffered at the end of last season, which forced him to miss four-and-a-half months of action. The England international missed last weekend's 4-0 defeat at Manchester United but has since returned to fitness having come through his appearance for the Under-23s last Friday unscathed. "Michail is back, he is fit, he played for the Under-23s last week on the Friday when we played Manchester United on the Sunday, which was part of the plan," Bilic said in his press conference on Thursday. He did 90 minutes on a big pitch in the Under-23s and then he came back to train with us and he looks good and he looks ready." While it's unclear whether or not Antonio will start at Southampton, his return to fitness is major boost for the Hammers and fantasy managers alike.

Arsene Wenger, speaking ahead of Arsenal's Week 2 match against Stoke City, declared that Shkodran Mustafi will be in the squad after missing out on the opening weekend.

The Germany international has been slow to get up to speed after his summer exertions for his country at the Confederations Cup. Only recently back at full training, Mustafi has now been declared fit enough to be in the squad for the match-up against the Potters. Whether "in the squad" ends up meaning starting or on the bench remains to be seen. With Laurent Koscielny still serving the final match of his suspension and Gabriel off to Valencia, Wenger might be inclined to push Mustafi a little harder than he otherwise would, especially in light of the three goals conceded to Leicester City in Week 1.

Arsenal are set to start trimming their squad with Gabriel poised to join Valencia on a permanent deal for a transfer fee of £10m.

It never quite worked out for Gabriel at the Emirates. He had his chances to establish himself as injuries to Laurent Koscielny, Per Mertesacker, and Shkodran Mustafi opened the door. As Gabriel failed to capitalize on those opportunities he was passed in the center back pecking order by Rob Holding, Calum Chambers, and even Nacho Monreal who seems to be moving infield after playing most of his career as a left back. The move will allow the Gunners to salvage approximately 2/3rds of the fee they spent on the player two and a half seasons ago.

After months of rumors and negotiations, Everton got its man in a move for Swansea City's Gylfi Sigurdsson.

The 27-year-old joins the Toffees on a five-year contract in a club-record £45 million move after seeing their original bid of £40 million rejected. The move for Sigurdsson brings the club's summer spending total to £145 million, much of it funded by the sale of Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United. The Icelandic playmaker is coming off one of the best seasons of his career after recording nine goals and 13 assists for the Swans. Said Sigurdsson: "Hopefully I will continue to create goals and score goals for the team and contribute to the kind of success we’re seeking at the Club. This is an ambitious club and it is clear we are moving in a really good direction. The most important thing is that this team keeps winning games and climbing the table - and does that throughout the season. For myself, I would like to score as many goals as possible and create as many goals for my teammates as I can."

Manchester City is close to having its full side back and healthy with Ilkay Gundogan nearing a return from injury.

The German international has not played a single game in 2017 after sustaining a cruciate ligament injury in December. But Gundogan played 20 minutes against Girona in a friendly on Tuesday as he nears his return. The former Borussia Dortmund signing is targeting the September international break as his full return, which would be a massive boost for Pep Guardiola's side: "I was out for eight months so there is no reason to rush now. When I feel good, ready and safe, I'm ready to play and try - as today. That's also the target for the next weeks. "There's an international beak in the next two weeks so plenty of time still to use that for training and maybe more games if that's possible. Hopefully after that break I will be ready to join the team fully. I want to be there when my manager and my teammates need me."
