Fernando Torres earned a start for Chelsea during the team's Champions League game but came off early in the first half with a knee injury.

Torres impressed Mourinho enough during the weekend to earn a Champions League start but the injury is another unlucky blow for the striker. He is already suspended for Chelsea's next Premier League game so hopefully he recovers quickly and is back after the suspension. He was replaced by Samuel Eto'o.

Watford's full back Allan Nyom looks to be on his way to West Brom today.

Reports indicate that West Brom are willing to part with as high as £4 million in order to secure the Cameroonian player. Nyom only arrived at Watford about a year ago from Italian club Udinese having spent a long period at Spain's Granada previous to that. It had recently appeared that he had committed his long term future to Watford when he signed a 4 year contract with the Hornets earlier in the month. Howver, having been a starter last season, Nyom has found himself on the bench for the first 3 games of 2016/17 and now looks to be seeking game time at pastures new.

Samir Nasri has been moved off of the Manchester City bench after signing a season-long loan deal to play with defending Europa League champions Sevilla.

The decks are being cleared at Manchester City today with Samir Nasri joining Wilfried Bony (Stoke City), Joe Hart (Torino), and Eliaquim Mangala (presumably Valencia) in being shipped out after a summer of retooling under Pep Guardiola. Nasri has struggled to make a real impact at the Etihad after a big money move from Arsenal. Between injuries and inconsistency, the former France international has failed to nail down a regular role in the first team. The move should help him reestablish himself and his value before a permanent deal in the future.

Sunderland look to be on the verge of resigning Yann M'Vila on a permanent basis from Ruben Kazan following his loan spell last season.

The Black Cats have already agreed a pre-contract to sign him in January but David Moyes wants to bring him into the first team now. However, his current Russian Premier Division club are demanding £7 million for his signature. This fee has been the sticking point up to now, however it appears Sunderland are poised to overcome this and sign M'Vila today. M'Vila has posted a picture on Instagram at Heathrow's arrivals hall. Whether he's taking a connecting flight north to Sunderland will materialise soon. The defensive midfielder appeared 37 times in Red and White last season in the league, scoring once and assisting a further 5 goals.

Reports are emerging that World Cup and double European Championship winning right back Alvaro Arbeloa is to sign for West Ham on a free transfer.

The former Liverpool man is understood to be in London to sign a one year deal after leaving Real Madrid in the summer. Bringing in a mentor to Byram will aid his development but crucially this should allow Michail Antonio to be deployed further forward more often or even permanently. He is not currently viewed as a starting option. Arbeloa appeared 9 times for the Galacticos last term, with two of those games being in the Champions League, which he won for the second time in three years with the club.

Interest by Tottenham in acquiring Moussa Sissoko from Newcastle United appears to be waning as Spurs cannot see eye-to-eye on a financial agreement with the Magpies.

Tottenham are put off by Newcastle's valuation of the French international midfielder, as the Magpies will not accept anything less than £30m for him. They are on the records as saying if no club is willing to pay £30m, Sissoko will be staying put. The link to Tottenham was a hot rumor this deadline day morning but appears to be cooling off, however the deal is not dead in the water. At the start of the summer, Sissoko was thought to be fetching around £16m-20m but Newcastle feel his performance at Euro 2016 has driven up his price tag. Sissoko certainly wants out of St. James' Park, so he still may land somewhere before tonight's deadline.

Turkish club Besiktas has successfully secured the transfer of central midfielder Gokhan Inler from Leicester City, signing a three-year contract.

Inler was a regular starter for four seasons with Napoli before joining the Foxes last summer, but he was unable to carve out any regular playing time under Cladio Ranieri, making just three league starts. He was blocked by N'golo Kante and Danny Drinkwater, who both enjoyed fantastic seasons. Though Kante has moved on, the acquisition of Nampalys Mendy earlier in the transfer window seemed to seal the fate for Inler, and a move elsewhere was imminent. The Swiss international will look to jumpstart his career again with Besiktas.

Stoke City are in talks with Manchester City to have Wilfried Bony join the Potters on a season-long loan.

Bony is reportedly at Stoke's training ground today, so this move looks very close to being confirmed soon. Bony may not have been able to make much of a mark with the Citizens but he displayed too much production in his time at Swansea City to ignore his potential should he move to a club like Stoke, where he would likely be the primary choice at striker and would have some pretty good weapons around to help him like Marko Arnautovic and Xherdan Shaqiri. Mame Biram Diouf would likely become a secondary option on the bench for Mark Hughes should this deal happen, while Peter Crouch, who started last weekend, will move even further down the pecking order as he plays out the twilight of his career.

Manchester City center back Eliaquim Mangala looks poised to join Serie A side Valencia on a season-long loan deal, currently with the club having a medical.

Valencia were looking at both Mangala and Manchester United's Marcos Rojo as options to fill a need they have at center back but it appears Mangala will be the one they get. FC Porto have also been linked with Mangala for a two-year loan deal. The French international has been wildly inconsistent during his time with the Citizens, was snubbed by Pep Guardiola for their preseason tour and a move elsewhere before the window closes today is highly likely for him.

Leicester City have reportedly struck a deal with Sporting Lisbon for the acquisition of Islam Slimani, with the striker headed to the defending PL champions to have a medical.

The Foxes approached Sporting earlier in the week but the Portuguese club were looking for a transfer fee of around £34m. Leicester seem to have been able to drive that asking price down a bit as the the fee is believed to be in the £27-28m range. The 28-year-old Algerian international has scored 48 goals in 82 appearances over the past two seasons in Lisbon and would likely earn regular playing time quickly if the move to the Foxes is confirmed. Ahmed Musa was thought to be the forward signing to make waves for Claudio Ranieri's side this summer, but the addition of Slimani would have an even bigger impact, possibly blocking Musa from having very much fantasy value and taking over the role currently occupied by Shinji Okazaki.

In one of the more intriguing rumors on Deadline Day, David Luiz could potentially leave PSG and head back to Chelsea.

Chelsea are definitely determined to bring in a defender before the end of the day and Luiz, along with Fiorentina left back Marcos Alonso, are being linked to the Blues. David Luiz has always been criticized in his career for being too attacking-minded and not very good at doing his primary job, defending, but Antonio Conte wants another top option, currently lacking any options to challenge veterans John Terry and Gary Cahill. Reports indicate that Chelsea and PSG have a significant gap in an agreeable transfer fee but that could change in the coming hours.

Reports are beginning to circulate that Yohan Cabaye has been injured while on international duty.

The precise nature or indeed the extent of the problem are yet to be confirmed, but several respected media outlets, plus the official fantasy Premier League game, have the Palace playmaker side-lined due to a knee problem. Cabaye made his first league start of the season on Saturday, and despite missing a first half penalty, his appearance in the Eagles line-up provided a massive boost following losses in their two opening matches. Alan Pardew has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to bolster his squad and following hot on the heels of record signing Christian Benteke, Loic Remy has arrived from Chelsea. However, Pardew may now be in the market for a new midfielder with Cabaye POTENTIALLY missing for several weeks. Jack Wilshere has been linked after Arsenal agreed to allow the injury-plagued England international to leave on-loan.
