Ramires scored twice to help Chelsea to a 4-0 win over Steaua Bucharest in their second Champions League match of the season.

Chelsea were the much better team on the night and many of their players played extremely well. Ramires happened to be the one to score the goals, but it could have been anyone. Ramires hasn't been extremely productive in fantasy in the Premier League so go with a more proven option.

Scott Arfield has not been ruled out of Burnley's trip to Arsenal on Sunday but remains a major doubt while Johann Berg Gudmundsson has a slightly better chance of a return.

While most sources are applying a "25% chance available" tag to each wide midfielder, according to the Lancashire Telegraph, Arfield's appears to be closer to no chance and Gudmundsson more a 50/50 proposition. Both picked up hamstring injuries two weeks back in FA Cup action but according to Sean Dyche, Gudmundsson has been progressing well in the buildup to Sunday while Arfield has been more "touch and go". Neither make an appealing fantasy option this weekend even if they were fit, given the matchup.

With less than 24 hours before their Saturday lunchtime kickoff against Swansea City, FIFA have made Joel Matip eligible to play for Liverpool.

The dispute between club and country has finally been settled and in just enough time for Matip to make the XI if Jurgen Klopp so desires for Saturday's contest with the Swans. West Brom's Nyom has also been given eligibility after both players withdrew their desire to play for Cameroon in the Africa Cup of Nations. While the absence of Sadio Mane will continue to be felt, the Reds are in pretty good shape otherwise concerning injuries and player availability. It could be a lopsided affair against last place Swansea at Anfield on Saturday.

West Ham revealed its first official signing of the new year on Friday night in Southampton defender Jose Fonte.

It looks like a shrewd piece of business for the Hammers to sign Southampton's club captain for £8 million after he was linked with Manchester United this summer for double after winning Euro 2016 with Portugal. The 33-year-old, who is not available to play this weekend, signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with a club option for a third year. Said Fonte: "I signed for West Ham because they are a great club and a very big club. They have a lot of fans and I have known for a number of years how passionate they are. The manager was also a very big influence. I thought that he really wanted me and that he sold me the project and the ambition of the Club."

Fernando Llorente scored a quick second half brace and Gylfi Sigurdsson was the hero with a match winner as Swansea City picked up three massive points with an upset 2-3 win over Liverpool.

There is hope for Swansea's season after a huge win, in fact their first win ever at Anfield in league play. The first half was all about displaying a focused defense that limited Liverpool's normally clever attack. In the second frame, they pounced on two chances in the opening seven minutes to take a shocking 0-2 lead, both scored by Llorente. The first with a toe poke after a successful set piece from the corner, the second from a header after a brilliant overlap run of new signings Martin Olsson and Tom Carroll, the latter delivering the pinpoint cross. The Reds would respond with two quick goals but Swansea one again leaned on the heroics of Sigurdsson, who stretched to meet the ball at the far post.

Roberto Firmino shot back into form, scoring two second half goals to get Liverpool level with Swansea City, but the Jacks were in the mood for the upset and found a winning goal in a 2-3 upset.

While still hampered by the absence of Sadio Mane, the return of Philippe Coutinho to the XI made this matchup look very one-sided on paper, but the Reds found themselves up against a Swansea side looking determined to climb out of the bottom of the table. After struggling to break through their defense in the first half, the upset looked sealed with Swansea scoring two goals quickly after the second half began. Firmino would score twice himself though in the space of 14 minutes, first by heading in a James Milner cross, then by scoring brilliantly when he collected a Georginio Wijnaldum cross, controlling the ball and firing accurately. In the end, an inconsistent defense cost the Reds points in their chase to the title, with some questionable efforts from Dejan Lovren and Ragnar Klavan in the middle.

Danny Drinkwater has called for Leicester City to "put their stamp" on Sunday's trip to Southampton, as the Foxes go in search of their first away from the King Power Stadium this season.

While a defeat on Sunday would match the worst record by a reigning top-flight champion after 22 matches, Drinkwater has called for his side to rise to the occasion at the St. Mary's Stadium. "It’s going to be a tough game because we know the qualities that they’ve got in the team," Drinkwater told LCFC.com. "It’s up to us to stop them by putting our stamp on the game." The emphasis put on this weekend's fixture has much to do with Leicester's current struggles as the Foxes have scored just one goal in their last four league matches and conceded 34 goals this season, only two fewer than all of their title-winning campaign.

Sunderland manager David Moyes seemed thrilled to announce that Jack Rodwell is in contention for the weekend.

Rodwell was expected to miss a few weeks after suffering a medial ligament injury to his knee last weekend, but scans revealed no such damage. Meanwhile, Moyes said forward Victor Anichebe and winger Steven Pienaar are also close to a return and could face West Brom this weekend: "Victor, Steven and Jack did a little bit of running yesterday so we'll have to assess them this morning, but I'm hopeful we can get at least one back. At the time we thought Jack had damaged his medial ligament but he had a scan and there was nothing there, so he should be okay."

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola confirmed that new winter arrival Gabriel Jesus has received international clearance.

That means the 19-year-old Brazilian phenom will be available to make his Manchester City debut against Tottenham on Saturday, where Guardiola said he will be in the squad. The striker arrives from Palmeiras (12 league goals) where he spent the first half of the Premier League season on loan before arriving this month: "He is fit, he is ready to be involved in the squad," Guardiola said. "He is going to help us in the Premier League. He is a young player, 19, so we cannot think he will solve our problems."he said. "He will have all the time to get involved."

Stoke City officially announced the signing of West Brom forward Saido Berahino to a five-and-a-half-year contract.

The 23-year-old striker arrives for a £12 million fee that could rise to £15 million in add-on fees in the future. The Potters worked quickly, after news broke Friday that the sides had agreed to a move and Berahino was heading to Stoke for a medical. However, Berahino won't be available for the weekend match against Manchester United. Said chief executive Tony Scholes: "It's no secret that we have been looking to bring Saido to the Club for a long time and to suggest that we are pleased to have finally concluded the deal is an understatement. We've signed a young English striker who has already proven his ability in the Premier League. After a frustrating period he's now desperately keen to reignite his career and we look forward to seeing him do that with us."

Striker Leonardo Ulloa is seeking a move to leave the Premier League champions during the January transfer window, says his agent.

Ulloa handed in a transfer request on Thursday, after talks with Leicester officials on his future broke down, and now looks set depart the King Power Stadium. Antonio Conte says Diego Costa will be available for selection but did not confirm whether or not he will return to the starting XI after he missed last week's win at Leicester City.

Speaking to the media on Friday, Conte says he has a tough decision to make about selecting which attacking players to start Sunday's clash with Hull City, as Eden Hazard, Willian and Pedro are coming off strong outings at the King Power Stadium. Conte said: "I have to pick three players and if someone misses out it’s not a punishment, only because at that moment I like to make choices based on the game and the opponent, that’s very important to me." While Conte refused to confirm whether or not Diego Costa would start Sunday's match, he did reveal that the striker is very happy at Stamford Bridge and wants to stay. "Our challenge is to keep the right concentration and to think this type of game is very important for the table if you take three points," Conte said. Should Costa feature, it would mark his 100th appearance for Chelsea.
