Hull City will be missing influential midfielder Robbie Brady for approximately a month as he recovers from hernia surgery.

Robbie Brady has been an attacking spark for Hull City as they have enjoyed a strong first six weeks of the Premier League season. Steve Bruce's men will have to cope without the Ireland international for the month of October. Fantasy managers will be just as frustrated as Bruce as Brady has been very productive for a bargain price thus far and many likely own him at a discount. Given the length of the absence it is probably not worth keeping Brady on the bench while he recovers. One positive consequence may be additional set piece duties for Tom Huddlestone which will increase his value.

The inevitable has finally become reality as Manchester United have named Jose Mourinho manager on a three year deal.

Mourinho and United have been linked since almost the moment he was dismissed from Chelsea. Louis Van Gaal's struggles with the media and style of play left supporters wanting a change. Mourinho is a controversial choice as a Van Gaal disciple and a conservative manager when it comes to the attacking football supporters crave. It will be a fascinating marriage and the renewal of his rivalry with Pep Guardiola will surely make for huge headlines.

Wales are taking no risks with Joe Allen and will handle the 26-year-old in kid gloves throughout the build up to Euro 2016 as the Liverpool midfielder recovers from a minor injury.

Allen picked up a slight knee problem towards the end of the domestic campaign and Chris Coleman is not prepared to jeopardise the availability of his key playmaker ahead of the tournament opener against Slovakia on June 11. Allen has trained away from the main group in Portugal, but the former Swansea star is expected to re-join full sessions very soon. Wales have already lost Tom Bradshaw and Adam Henley to injury this week while Preston North End goalkeeper Chris Maxwell has been called up as a precaution with Danny Ward struggling to shake off a knee issue.

Roy Hodgson insists the fitness of Gary Cahill is not an issue despite the Chelsea defender struggling due to an ongoing hip problem.

The 30-year-old is one of only three centre-halves expected to be included in the 23-man Euro squad and in spite of John Stones’ lack of international experience, the Three Lions manager is not tempted to take anyone else alongside Chris Smalling. Cahill was a doubt for last weekends’ friendly with Turkey but had an injection prior the game. Even though he came through 90 minutes, Cahill was slightly hampered and a decision was taken on Monday for another jab which would help clear the problem. "I decided with physio Gary Lewin and the doctor that this was the best thing to do," Roy Hodgson said. "He’s played a lot of football and it was very unlikely one player would play in all three preparation games from the beginning."

Reports in the Guardian indicate that Jose Mourinho would like to recruit Willian to Manchester United and that the player is very much interested.

The issue here is that Chelsea would have to be interested in the move as Willian isn't close enough to the end of his contract to force a cut-rate move. The price is estimated to be in the £60m neighborhood. Manchester United have a ton of money but that's a pretty expensive neighborhood given that there will still be a lot of other work to do in defense, holding midfield and at forward. Perhaps Chelsea sees it as a way to fund Antonio Conte's preferred players without running afoul of FFP but it's hard to see the Blues giving up their best player from last season for a manager with whom they've had a falling out.

Sadio Mane has been linked around the Premier League already this summer and now Liverpool are added to the list after Mario Gotze has apparently spurned their advances.

Liverpool are clearly in the market for a wide attacker at or near the prime of his career. The obvious link to Gotze, who played for Jurgen Klopp at Dortmund, has been there since Klopp took the job but apparently the player is not interested. That leaves the Reds to look for alternatives and the name mooted today is Mane. Southampton, as is their MO, will presumably want a significant profit on the player and there is rumored to be competition from Manchester United and Arsenal for the player's signature. File this under "could happen" but certainly not a no-brainer.

With Dani Alves apparently off to Juventus, the logical link is made to Barcelona trying to reacquire Hector Bellerin who left their youth system for Arsenal.

Bellerin has quickly gone from surprise starter half-way through last season to the best right back in the Premier League over the course of the 2015-16 season. His rapid ascent has fueled speculation that his boyhood team, Barcelona, might come calling in the same way they did with Cesc Fabregas after he'd established himself with the Gunners. Bellerin has recently stated that he's happy in London and considers it his long term home but you can't write off the pull of the Spanish champions, especially for a player who came up through their system.

Georginio Wijnaldum looks to be in demand given his performances and the fact that Newcastle have been relegated. Roma and West Ham have been linked so far.

It's hard to know what assurances Rafa Benitez sought from Mike Ashley before agreeing to stay on as Newcastle manager in the Championship next season. One thing he might reasonably have demanded is that a couple key contributors be retained despite the high cost of doing so on Championship revenue. Georginio Wijnaldum was one of the Magpies' stronger attacking contributors last season and would certainly be high on Rafa's "Keep" list. He could also bring a pretty return from suitors looking to upgrade their midfield. Adding Wijnaldum to Payet, Lanzini, and Antonio would make for a potentially fearsome group at the Olympic Stadium.

Crystal Palace has emerged as the favorite to land Tottenham midfielder Ryan Mason in the summer transfer window.

Rumors have been swirling about the 24-year-old's future at the club despite signing a five-year contract last year. Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew is known to be keen on a move for the 24-year-old, with reports saying the Eagles are interested in making a £4million bid while Spurs value Mason at around £8million. With the emergence of Dele Alli, Moussa Dembele, and Eric Dier, Mason started only seven Premier League games this season, just two coming after the New Year. But it remains to be seen whether the English international wants to force a departure with Spurs in Champions League next season.

The agent of Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel confirmed the center-half is almost certain to leave the club this summer.

Karol Csonto told TV Markiza in Slovakia that the 31-year-old is on his way out after making only one Premier League start since the arrival of manager Jurgen Klopp: "Besiktas is one of those interested in Martin but we're haven't reached a point where I can confirm Martin is going there, or anywhere else. But I can say that it is 90 percent sure Martin will leave Liverpool, but it is far from closed." Skrtel is set to captain Slovakia at the European championships this summer, but will likely leave the club after the tournament after losing his starting role in an injury-plagued season.

Roy Hodgson has confirmed that Fabian Delph will not travel with the squad to the Stadium of Light tomorrow after picking up a groin injury in training.

The Manchester City midfielder only ever had an outside chance of making the European Championships, but this latest setback means Delph will not be considered for the 23-man squad when the final list is submitted on May 31. However, the door hasn’t been completely slammed shut on the injury plagued 26-year-old who will remain on the standby list as his injury is not thought to be long-term: "If I needed him and wanted him to come with us, it's easy for me to call him and ask him to do so," revealed the Three Lions manager speaking ahead of the friendly against Australia. Hodgson also confirmed that Daniel Sturridge has not trained with the group, although the specifics of his problem remain unknown - Marcus Rashford "is going to play a serious part in the game."

Bundesliga side Hoffenheim have turned forward Andrej Kramaric's loan from Leicester City into a permanent move.

Leicester City confirmed the move on Wednesday with the 24-year-old leaving the club after one-and-a-half seasons with the Premier League champions. Kramaric joined from Croatian side Rijeka in January of 2015 in a £9.7million move, scoring four goals in 20 appearances in all competitions. One year after joining Leicester, the Croatian international was sent on loan to Hoffenheim, where he scored five goals in 15 appearances. Kramaric made four appearances in the first half of the season for Leicester, only two of which came in the Premier League.
