Manchester United manager David Moyes has admitted that Robin Van Persie is a doubt for the club's weekend match against Southampton.

Van Persie was substituted out of Holland's match earlier in the week and Moyes says he is suffering as "he had a kick in the calf and he also had problems with his toes as well." United also have concerns over the international travel of Antonio Valencia and Javier Hernandez, but as Moyes said, "Probably the one we're most worried about is Robin van Persie."

Christian Beneteke kept up his sizzling form with a pair of goals to help stave off Everton in an entertaining 3-2 win for Aston Villa.

He won't have enough time to win the Golden Boot but Benteke is in Beast Mode these days, making it look easy at times. Surely, he will want to see Tim Sherwood continue to manage the club next season considering the results. Villa went up in the 10th minute when he leaped high into the air to head home a Fabian Delph cross. He got his brace just before the half, heading again from a Jack Grealish corner, somehow unmarked. Villa would need it's third goal from Tom Cleverly as Everton would score two second half goals to make a game of it. Benteke has achieved "fixture-proof" status at this point.

West Brom defeated Manchester United 0-1 at Old Trafford through a Jonal Olsson goal.

The return of van Persie wasn't enough for Manchester as they couldn't find the back of the net against West Brom. Jonas Olsson's second half goal secured three very important points for the Baggies as they looked solid throughout the entire match and were able to hold off United late. The Red Devils had a 26-6 shot advantage including a 9-3 shot on target advantage, but they failed to make West Brom pay with some poor finishing and a great performance from goalkeeper Boaz Myhill. The Baggies are now seven points in front of the relegation zone and can relax a bit for the remainder of the season.

Steven Gerrard missed a penalty but recovered to score a late winner as Liverpool overcame QPR at Anfield 2-1.

It was an up and down match for Gerrard but it ended in a storybook way for the Liverpool legend as he scored the Reds' winner at the Kop End. It didn't come on his last appearance at the hallowed ground but the winner may serve as a final special memory on the pitch as the captain once again led his club to victory when it looked like they might have to settle for a draw. Gerrard's score came in the 88th minute after Philippe Coutinho and Leroy Fer scored on either side of halftime. Nedum Onuoha was sent off after he collected his second yellow card.

Leroy Fer scored a goal, had one disallowed and had another well-saved by Simon Mignolet but he couldn't stop QPR from dropping a 2-1 decision at Anfield.

The writing is on the wall for QPR. With Leicester City, Sunderland and Aston Villa all picking up three points in Week 35 the Rs failure to even pick up a point looks like it may doom them to relegation. With three matches to play, Chris Ramsey's men sit 7 points from safety. Probably time for Leroy Fer and Charlie Austin to start looking for new clubs for next season.

Jonjo Shelvey assisted on both goals as Swansea dispatched Stoke City 2-0 at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.

Jonjo Shelvey is one of those players that can look brilliant on his day but can also look rather foolish and immature on other days. Saturday was one of the good days as Shelvey provided good assists on the only two goals of the match and had a strong drive from outside the box tipped just over the net. Shelvey's first assist came when he dribbled to the edge of the box and crossed into the box for Jefferson Montero who scored his first goal in the Premier League. The second came from the other side of the box as he set up Ki Sung-yueng for a side-footed insurance goal as stoppage time approached.

Marc Wilson was shown his second yellow card in the 84th minute which effectively ended the tie as the Potter dropped a 2-0 decision at the Liberty Stadium.

Tony Pulis would be horrified to realize that this was the first time all season that Stoke City have gone down to 10 men. Marc Wilson's 84th minute yellow card, his second of the match, saw Swansea gain a man advantage. They took advantage in stoppage time to double their lead as Stoke City continued to press for an equalizer. The loss didn't mean much to the Potters' season but it does put them at risk of falling out of the top half with Everton still only three points behind them in 11th.

Romelu Lukaku converted a penalty to get Everton back into the match but he and the Toffees were outdone by the heroics of Christian Benteke in a 3-2 final at Villa Park.

It was the battle of the Belgian strikers as Lukaku and Benteke squared off but it was the Villan who showed up at the opening whistle. Lukaku looked out of the game in the first half but changed his tune in the second and Everton would eventually break through when Steven Naismith was tripped up by Ron Vlaar in the area, awarding the Toffees a penalty. Lukaku took a deliberate yet accurate shot and found the back of the net. Villa regained a two goal advantage shortly thereafter but Everton made things interesting late when Phil Jagielka headed home a goal by way of a rebound off of a...Phil Jagielka header. It was a blooper reel goal for sure.

Mark Noble scored from the penalty spot to give West Ham United a 1-0 win over Burnley.

West Ham were missing a number of players on defense again but they did enough to keep Burnley out. It helped that Burnley lost Michael Duff to a red card in the 23rd minute, and it was smooth sailing for West Ham from that point on. The Hammers enjoyed 60% of possession and had 29 shots on the day, roughly a shot every three minutes. With the loss, Burnley are almost surely going to get relegated, while West Ham are fairly locked in at mid-table.

Newcastle boss John Carver accused his players of intentionally fouling in order to receive red cards.

Carver believes his players were sent off on purpose as they wanted to be suspended in order to avoid the pressure of the relegation battle. This is quite a strong accusation, and the dressing room will surely be in turmoil as the manager has started blaming the players in the midst of a huge slide. Newcastle have looked horrific as of late and it's hard to imagine how any players would stand behind the manager now that he's started publicly blaming them. Mike Williamson will serve a three-match ban in the meantime. Continue using Newcastle opponents in fantasy on a weekly basis.

Jordi Gomez scored twice - both times off of penalties - to help Sunderland beat Southampton 2-1.

Both of Sunderland's goals came from penalties as Southampton played an undisciplined game on the way to a loss. Jordi Gomez netted both of his spot kicks to please fantasy managers, but he is still not someone to use in non-deep leagues as he doesn't have a consistent output. The win sends Sunderland just one point below the relegation cutoff for what is shaping up to be a very interesting relegation race to finish off the season.

Leicester City continued their climb to avoid relegation by capitalizing on an embarrassing Newcastle United performance and cruising to a 3-0 win.

Consider the midweek loss to Chelsea quickly out of their memory, the Foxes are a serious handful right now. Ulloa opened the scoring quickly by heading in a Marc Albrighton corner in the opening minute. Another set piece would haunt Newcastle in the 17th minute when Albrighton's free kick was found by Wes Morgan in front of goal and the defender poked it home. Ulloa put the game out of reach early in the second half by converting a penalty that resulted from a silly Emanuel Riviere foul on Marcin Wasilewski in the area. Their opponent may have provided Leicester a win no matter how they performed themselves, but the fact is they are not a club anyone wants to face right now.
