After taking an early 1-0 lead on a goal by Yohan Cabaye, Newcastle United went down to ten men, but managed to keep pace with Liverpool to earn a point in a 2-2 draw.

Cabaye was the one to watch in the early going, taking some audacious attempts at goal, and scored from about 30 yards out after nonchalantly walking the ball up from midfield. The hero of the day goes to the young unknown Paul Dummett, who scored the second goal after being subbed on at the start of the 2nd half and helped Newcastle get a point out of a situation in which they easily could have come away with nothing.

Laurent Koscielny must be ahead of schedule in his recovery because Arsene Wenger has deemed him fit enough for a place on the bench against Borussia Dortmund in Wednesday's Champions League tie at the Emirates.

It was only a few days ago that Arsene Wenger declared Koscielny three weeks away from full group training. Apparently the schedule has moved up because he has been passed fit enough for a potential substitute role in a key Champions League match against group leaders Dortmund. It seems unlikely that Wenger will use the France international unless times are desperate but the way things are going at Arsenal, desperate isn't out of the question.

Danny Welbeck was not fit enough to make the squad for Arsenal's critical Champions League match with Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday.

Welbeck was a bit on the gimpy side coming off of England duty but Arsene Wenger chose to start him against his former club on Saturday. Welbeck didn't look entirely healthy at the end of the 2-1 loss to United and the issue was confirmed as the forward was left out of the squad against Dortmund. Arsenal have yet to release any details on the extent of the injury or when Welbeck might be expected back in the line-up.

Craig Dawson, Andre Wisdom and Craig Gardner were the best of a mediocre lot for West Brom in Week 12 as they went down a man and capitulated to league leading Chelsea.

Eight fantasy points in the Yahoo format is nothing to write home about but when playing Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, it isn't bad. It was also the best of a mediocre lot given that the Baggies didn't score, were a man down and conceded two. Andre Wisdom joined Craig Dawson at eight fantasy points and Craig Gardner, coming off of a suspension, was just behind them at seven points on the day. Odd to be saying this but things should get better this weekend with Arsenal coming to the Hawthorns for a visit.

Jon Walters scored Stoke City's only goal in their home loss to Burnley on Saturday.

Jon Walters may be the least aesthetically pleasing attacking player in the Premier League. That said, he continues to be a Premier League player because his no-nonsense style continues to produce the sort of results that a mid-table team needs from a reserve forward. There is no upside with Walters and even the hardest core Potters supporter will likely never come away from a match excited that they got to watch Jon Walters play but the Ireland international has put up 6, 7, 8, and 5 goals in his four full seasons at Stoke City despite being a substitute on many occasions. He already has three in eight appearances so far this season. He is the very definition of a mid-table squad player and that is in no way intended to be an insult.

Victor Moses continues to contribute phantom points just about every week regardless of whether the goals and assists are coming or not.

Against Burnley, Moses was the only Stoke City player not involved in their lone goal to reach double digit fantasy points. The on-loan Chelsea man contributed two shots on target, two corners won and a successful cross on his way to 11 points in the Yahoo format. Given that Stoke City lost to a bad team that's not a bad day's work. Unfortunately, it appears that the winger will likely be out for up to eight weeks through a thigh injury picked up as he was accumulating these statistics.

Sergio Aguero's hat-trick - including two goals in the last five minutes - kept Manchester City's Champions League hopes alive in a dramatic victory over Bayern Munich.

The stats tell you all you need to know about Aguero's form this season. 17 goals in 14 starts in all competitions is a remarkable return and the Argentine is - almost single-handedly - keeping Manchester City's title and Champions League aspirations alive. Manuel Pellegrini's men did their best to throw away another lead despite Bayern Munich being down to 10 men for the majority of the match, but Aguero was their saviour, scoring twice in the final five minutes. Win in Rome on 10 December and City should progress to the knock-out stages, but even a draw will be enough if Bayern beat CSKA Moscow.

It hasn't been a very productive second season at Hull City for Jake Livermore so far but Week 12 saw a goal against his former club.

It isn't exactly clear what Jake Livermore is. He isn't an attacking midfielder peppering the net with shots. He isn't a wide creator sprinkling in crosses and making fancy moves on the wing. He isn't a classic number ten dribbling and setting up easy goals for his teammates. He isn't a Makelele-style destroyer from deep or even a Pirlo-like initiator of attacks from a deep lying role. He just sort of "is" without any single outstanding quality. As such, you should probably look at his goal against Spurs as a nicely taken anomaly rather than the start of something.

Wayne Rooney led a lackluster Manchester United effort from a fantasy point of view despite the team winning on the field.

You'd have thought that in beating Arsenal at the Emirates and scoring two goals, Manchester United would have accumulated some solid fantasy points somewhere up and down the roster. As it turns out, Wayne Rooney's 18 points in the Yahoo format and David De Gea's 17 were the only double digit efforts. Part of the blame falls to United's first goal being an own goal and the rest falls to the lack of clean sheet points for the defense after Olivier Giroud's stoppage time goal salvaged some pride.

David De Gea was where he needed to be for 90+ minutes against a consistent Arsenal attack and his fantasy output reflected that.

Even without a clean sheet, David De Gea had a huge night for Manchester United and fantasy owners in the 2-1 win over Arsenal on Saturday. His eight saves were the difference in the real match and represented a huge boon for fantasy managers even though he did eventually let in Olivier Giroud's stunning stoppage time strike. United's poor defensive form has held back De Gea's fantasy value for much of the season but he came through big in Week 12.

His team may have slumped to an embarrassing home defeat to lowly Burnley but Bojan put together his third consecutive strong fantasy outing in Week 12.

In the Yahoo format, Bojan only has a total of 51 points for the season. It is remarkable that 47 of those points have come in the past 3 weeks. Maybe it is just a run of good form or maybe he's finally shaken the rust off and found his footing. Regardless, an assist on Jon Walters' goal plus a solid two-way performance with three successful crosses, three intercepted passes and two tackles won highlighted a strong effort even in defeat.

Alexis Sanchez may not have come out on top against Manchester United but he continued to delivery for fantasy managers.

Even when he isn't scoring goals, Alexis Sanchez is doing things that managers in most fantasy formats will feel good about. With the exception of the PL.com format that is weighted heavily toward goals, assists and clean sheets, Sanchez has been a break out star whether he's scoring in a given match or not. Against United, the Chilean totaled two shots on target, five successful crosses and two corners won on his way to 14 points in the Yahoo format. There aren't many attacking players producing at this level at all, let alone without scoring every week like Diego Costa and Sergio Aguero.
