Vincent Kompany could be back in a Manchester City shirt this weekend as boss Manuel Pellegrini declares him fit for their match at Stamford Bridge.

Whether Kompany will start against Chelsea remains to be seen, but just having him back in the squad would be a huge boost. However, one would think City's medical staff will be doing all they can to have their skipper ready for one of their toughest league matches of the season.

Mauricio Pochettino has played down injury concerns after Toby Alderweireld was forced off during the closing stages of Mondays’ game against bitter rivals Chelsea.

Alderweireld was left lying in a heap following a hard but fair Diego Costa challenge as the game moved into injury time. Following treatment, the defender moved gingerly to the side-lines and with only two Premier League games remaining many believed his season could be over. However, speaking to Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws Pochettino revealed: "It’s his knee. We’ll have to have a look, but it should be OK." Fellow countryman Mousa Dembele is another who could see his campaign end prematurely. The Tottenham midfielder was caught on camera eye gouging Diego Costa as tempers flared at Stamford Bridge.

Manuel Pellegrini provided a mixed injury update ahead of his sides’ trip to Real Madrid on Wednesday night.

The Chilean boss revealed Yaya Toure had re-joined the group in training after overcoming a muscular problem. But right-back Pablo Zabaleta will miss the remainder of the campaign after suffering a calf strain at St Marys’ on Sunday. Following Tuesdays’ Champions League pre-match media briefing, the 31-year-old provided his own update via Twitter: ‘Sadly after an MRI scan I can confirm a muscle tear grade 2 in my left calf which is around 3 weeks off’. If City do progress to the final then Zabaleta could make the game which is scheduled for May 28 at the San Siro in Milan. He joins David Silva in the treatment room – hamstring – who will also miss around 21-days. Bacary Sagna is set to deputise in his absence.

Marouane Fellaini and Robert Huth face the prospect of a three-match ban after the pair were charged with alleged violent conduct by the Football Association today.

The incident, which was missed by match officials during Sundays’ 1-1 draw at Old Trafford but was caught on video, shows Fellaini swinging an elbow as he reacted to having his hair pulled by Huth. Both players have until 6pm GMT on Wednesday to respond to the allegations but giving the damming evidence a ban seems the most likely outcome. Fellaini would miss the three remaining Premier League matches, but crucially he could play in the FA Cup final on May 21. Meanwhile, Huth would carry one game into next season meaning he will miss the first match of Leicester’s title defence.

Liverpool welcome Emre Can back to training and the defensive midfielder might be ready to start for the Reds in the second leg of the Europa League semifinal on Thursday.

Can was initially thought to have been lost for the rest of the season with an ankle injury he picked up in the second leg quarterfinal against Borussia Dortmund. He has made an earlier-than-expected return to training though and, if he can prove his fitness, could be picked by Jurgen Klopp on Thursday. The Reds desperately need to keep Villareal from scoring to have a shot at advancing to the final and the presence of Can would only improve their chances. If he does start, he would most certainly partner James Milner in the middle of the formation, allowing someone like Lucas to make the XI this weekend against Watford. After seeing that area of the pitch struggle against Swansea in the last round with inexperienced youngsters, it would be yet another boost for the clash with the Hornets.

Danny Rose has a hamstring issue while Toby Alderweireld picked up a knock in Tottenham's draw yesterday evening against Chelsea, putting two key Spurs defenders' status in doubt ahead of this weekend's match with Southampton.

There are some major talking points coming out of yesterday's draw for Spurs and none of them are positive. They set a Premier League record by accumulating nine yellow cards against Chelsea, amazingly finishing the match with a full XI. Mousa Dembele appeared to have eye-gouged Diego Costa and could face a ban this week that will end his season prematurely, this after Tottenham already lost Dele Alli to suspension. In the final ten minutes and change, Danny Rose had to be replaced by Ben Davies and Toby Alderweireld came off hobbling just before the final whistle. All of this while the club were officially eliminated from title contention. If Rose cannot go this weekend, Davies can play as an adequate replacement but an absence of Alderweireld would really hurt the club as they attempt to hold on to a final position ahead of rivals Arsenal.

Manchester City will receive a major boost this week after Yaya Toure was deemed fit before the club's biggest game of the season.

The Sky Blues take on Real Madrid on Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League semifinal second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu following a 0-0 draw in the first leg. But now they will have Yaya Toure in midfield against the Spanish giants. It will be interesting to see where Toure fits into the starting lineup after missing the last week with a thigh injury as Fernando and Fernandinho were stellar in front of the back-line. Without David Silva, Toure could take more of an attacking role but two goals from Kelechi Iheanacho over the weekend could see City play with two strikers.

Manchester City will have to do without Pablo Zabaleta and David Silva for Wednesday's showdown with Real Madrid due to injury.

While Zabaleta didn't feature against Real Madrid in the 0-0 draw at the Etihad in the first leg last week, City could be vulnerable at the right-back position. It will be up to Bacary Sagna to slow down Cristiano Ronaldo, who didn't play in the first leg but has been deemed 100 percent fit for the UEFA Champions League second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu. Meanwhile, the news of David Silva comes as no surprise given that the midfielder is likely set to miss the rest of the Premier League season after suffering a hamstring injury in the 40th minute of the first leg last week.

It was an unlikely outcome on the day and on the season as Chelsea came from 2-0 down to draw with Spurs to give Leicester City the most unlikely league championship in Premier League history.

It was a momentous day for the Foxes as Jamie Vardy was awarded the Football Writers' Player of the Year award in the morning and Spurs frittered away a 2-0 lead to give them a championship in the evening. It wasn't the ideal scenario as the Foxes didn't win the title on the pitch but it will mean wild celebration in the streets of Leicester and hope for underdogs everywhere as Eden Hazard contributed to a title winning effort for the second season in a row as he equalized for Chelsea and officially eliminated Spurs from the title race.

Sam Vokes headed the Clarets to a 1-0 win over Queens Park Rangers and to a guaranteed top two spot in the Championship.

The top two spot means that Burnley have guaranteed themselves promotion back to the Premier League one season after being relegated. Sean Dyche's side were defensively solid in their Premier League campaign but they lost Danny Ings and Kieran Trippier last summer and will need to revitalize their attack if they want to survive this time around.

Tottenham's title hopes were officially dashed this evening as they let a two goal lead slip away and finished with a 2-2 draw against Chelsea, making Leicester City the league champions.

It is celebration time in Leicester as Chelsea did what they hoped to do by ending Tottenham's hopes of catching the Foxes. Spurs were set up for a win at Stamford Bridge for the first time in 26 years by taking a 0-2 lead in the first half. In the 35th minute, Erik Lamela slipped a ball to Harry Kane who danced around the keeper and finished into an open goal. Nine minutes later, Christian Eriksen's through-ball set up Heung-Min Son who found the net with a low strike. Chelsea clawed their way in the second half, finding an equalizer in the 83rd minute. Tottenham amazingly accrued nine yellow cards along the way, with each infraction more cynical than the last, but somehow still finished the match without a sending off. It was a classic derby with more physical confrontations than one could count, but unlike Leicester, who have consistently played 90 minutes of football every week without losing their focus, Tottenham lost their cool as the match wound down.

Mark Hughes is sweating on the fitness of Marko Arnautovic ahead of next weekends’ trip to Selhurst Park.

Arnautovic was a concern heading into Saturdays’ game against Sunderland, but the big Austrian passed a late test although he wasn’t able to complete 90 minutes. "I thought he was excellent today," said Hughes who was speaking post-match about the players performance and well-taken goal. However, the Potters boss revealed: "He’s got a problem with his thigh," that's the reason he couldn’t continue. "When he starts to tire, it starts to restrict him." Hughes remains "hopeful" that Arnautovic will be OK for game against Crystal Palace. If not, one potential replacement is Jon Walters who returned following minor knee surgery. The Republic of Ireland international played more than half an hour on his comeback having missed the last four games.
