Mathieu Flamini, injured last weekend against Norwich with a concussion returned for eight minutes before leaving the Crystal Palace match with a groin injury.

Mathieu Flamini has arguably been the best value signing of the summer. Coming back to Arsenal on a free from Milan he has slotted into one of the two holding midfield slots and provided energy and aggression that had been missing since he departed. He was particularly invaluable immediately after his arrival when Arsenal's midfield was riddled with injuries. With Mikel Arteta, Jack Wilshere, and Santi Cazorla all back to health, Flamini's absence for parts of the last two matches wasn't as conspicuous but Arsene Wenger will hope the Frenchman is available to help keep Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge in check next weekend.

Nigel Pearson has a number of injury concerns to consider as the Foxes prepare for Wednesdays’ game at Stamford Bridge. Jeff Schlupp and David Nugent [both calf] missed the win at Burnley while Jamie Vardy needed a pain-killing injection before the trip to Turf Moor after picking up a foot injury in training.

Pearson has hinted at the possibility of a reshuffle with one eye on the visit of Newcastle next Saturday; a game which provides a more realistic opportunity of 3-points than a game away to the champions elect. However after four successive wins confidence is high in the Leicester camp and although Chelsea are unbeaten since their New Years’ Day defeat to Tottenham the Blues have had a dip in form grinding out results rather than battering teams. Chelsea have managed just [14] goals since the end of January, that's fewer than the likes of QPR, Aston Villa and Leicester. Diego Costa [hamstring] remains a doubt while Loic Remy will miss out; a point midweek is not unthinkable.

John Carver has revealed Dutch defender Daryl Janmaat was withdrawn on Saturday due to illness and the Newcastle coach remains hopeful that the right-back will be available for Saturdays’ crucial trip to the King Power Stadium.

Defeat at home to Swansea in GW34 was the clubs’ seventh consecutive loss – their worst run in Premier League history – and with Newcastle sitting on 35-points the Magpies are not safe from the drop just yet. However a boost in personnel will provide Carver with options that have been lacking in recent weeks. Moussa Sissoko completed his 2-game ban while Paul Dummett – originally thought to be out for the season – returned to full training last Friday and is expected to be available. Siem de Jong will step up his recovery by playing for the U21s this week and the midfielder should be joined by Rolando Aarons who is targeting a return before the end of the season.

Manchester United and England captain Wayne Rooney will be assessed after picking up a knee injury at his former stomping ground on Sunday.

Rooney was replaced during the dying moments at Goodison Park by the returning Robin van Persie although he didn’t appear to be in too much discomfort. The injury capped a miserable afternoon on Merseyside as United were outclassed and outfought with James McCarthy exemplary in his play. Louis van Gaal confirmed post-match "Yes, Rooney was injured. He had a shot on his knee, so we have to wait and see how heavy [serious] it is." United supporters will be hoping his withdrawal was more of a precaution with the game already over as a contest [3-nil] as Liverpool are still within touching distance of fourth spot. On a more positive note Daley Blind and Adnan Januzaj [both ankle] were passed fit prior to the game.

A shoulder injury ended Ben Davies' afternoon early at Southampton after the Welsh full-back fell awkwardly [dislocating his shoulder] in only his ninth league start of the campaign.

Davies replaced the injured Danny Rose [hamstring] but suffered his own problem on 76 minutes and he departed on a stretcher; although the player did re-emerge from the treatment room to watch the final moments of the game with his shoulder supported in a sling. Tottenham will now await the results of further tests plus a specialist report before deciding on the best course of action. Vlad Chiriches is a potential replacement for the visit of Manchester City next weekend if the pair are ruled out although Pochettino may decide to shuffle Jan Vertonghen across to the left with Younes Kaboul playing centrally.

It was a story of non-penalties as David Ospina, Santi Cazorla and Gary Cahill all avoided having penalties called against them as Arsenal and Chelsea drew nil-nil at the Emirates.

Of the three penalty decisions perhaps the most controversial was David Ospina taking out Oscar at the top of the box. Hector Bellerin cleared Oscar's shot off the line. The Chelsea number ten had to be removed at halftime with concussion fears. The match ended nil-nil with very few chances from open play.

Gary Cahill was f I rtunate to avoid being penalized as he blocked an Arsenal shot with an extended arm in the nil-nil draw at the Emirates.

There were three potential first half penalties, two for the Blues and one for Arsenal, but none were called. There were some OK chances both ways but mostly it was a cagey affair as Chelsea again conceded possession and defended stoutly against a top challenger. The draw brings the Blues a step closer to the title.

With less than a month of the season remaining Manchester City will be sweating on the fitness of Yaya Toure after the midfielder failed to emerge for the second half against Aston Villa on Saturday after tweaking his hamstring.

Toure was seen stretching his leg following a heavy challenge by Fabian Delph just minutes before half-time and the Ivorian was substituted at the break. However it was his replacement - Fernandinho - who grabbed the winner to earn all 3-points as the game seemed destined for a draw. Post-match Manuel Pellegrini confirmed his withdrawal was injury related "Toure had a hamstring problem so he couldn't play the second half. It is difficult to know today what happened, but it was not a precaution. It was a muscle injury and we will see tomorrow [Sunday] or Monday how bad it is." Typically a minor grade one tear would mean around 2/3 weeks on the sidelines and anything worse would end his campaign.

Garry Monk remains hopeful that Jefferson Montero will be available for the visit of Stoke in GW35 after the Ecuadorian was replaced during the second half at St James’ Park as a precaution.

The speedy winger was enjoying a fruitful afternoon on Tyneside but Montero indicated to the bench midway through the second half that he was feeling a little tightness in his hamstring. Montero has suffered a number of soft tissue problems this season and rather than risk a recurrence Monk took no chances and introduced Matt Grimes for only his second appearance. Swansea supporters were rocked earlier in the day with the news that Wayne Routledge had been ruled out for the season after undergoing ankle surgery, a move which prompted a recall for Modou Barrow who was on loan at Nottingham Forest. Bafetimbi Gomis is aiming for a return at the Emirates in early May.

Everton put on a dynamic display against Manchester United, beating them at Goodison Park for the third consecutive season in a 3-0 win.

The Toffees jumped ahead early when James McCarthy cleaned up a cross meant for Romelu Lukaku and scored inside of five minutes. Manchester United didn't seem to have a response and as the first half wore on, you felt another Everton goal was coming. It did in the 35th minute when John Stones headed home a Leighton Baines corner, giving the young center back his first top flight goal and a monster fantasy day. The Toffees did well to never take their foot off the gas and Kevin Mirallas put the game to bed by scoring from the bench. It has been a rocky season at Goodison but Everton look to end the season on a strong note.

Manchester United played to their second consecutive loss as they looked flat in their 3-0 defeat at the hands of Everton.

A return to Goodison for Marouane Fellaini was the main storyline for the Red Devils as they looked to rebound from their loss to Chelsea last weekend but they instead played worse. Their defense was unorganized from the jump which led to the early deficit and their attack was dormant. Fellaini picked up a yellow card and was summarily subbed off to begin the second half for Radamel Falcao. Falcao breathed a bit of life into the attack but neither he nor Angel Di Maria who came on later could match the intensity of the opposition. The loss opens the door for Liverpool to edge closer to them for the final Champions League spot.

A number of mistakes ended up costing Aston Villa points at the Etihad as they lost 3-2 to Manchester City.

Aston Villa started the match extremely poorly after Brad Guzan gifted Sergio Aguero an open net when trying to connect a pass across the back. It was possibly Aguero's easiest goal of his career and it was the start Manchester City needed. Villa were able to fight back and eventually tie the match 2-2, but a late Fernandinho goal gave City a much needed three points. Aston Villa will surely be disappointed as they must feel they deserve more than zero points from this match. They are now just two points above the relegation zone and are still strongly involved in the relegation race.
