Tim Krul picked up a knock in training this week and remains a doubt for Newcastle's trip to West Ham United tomorrow.

Krul's status is considered "touch and go" but if you have a deadline before the Magpies team news comes out, you cannot trust Krul to start and unless you have a viable backup, you are taking a major chance in playing him. Rob Elliot would deputize should Krul sit tomorrow's match out.

Roberto Martinez has confirmed that Everton left back Leighton Baines is "in contention" for Sunday's match with Spurs, along with several other players carrying doubts.

While the news is promising on Baines as compared to earlier in the week, Martinez is by no means making it easier on fantasy managers with that statement. He has had a reputation of deeming a player available and said player not so much as making the squad, with Ross Barkley being a prime example over the past few seasons. The other players on the list of being "in contention" include Gareth Barry, Steven Pienaar, and Steven Naismith. None of these players can be recommended for fantasy this week as a result, but if you have been holding onto Baines, you will just need a viable backup option and cross your fingers.

Enner Valencia is still dealing with a minor knock and will likely miss this weekend's match against Newcastle.

In Valencia's absence, Andy Carroll will likely draw another start as he successfully played 90 minutes last time out. Carroll is very injury prone but he may be worth a look in some leagues as he comes with a very low price tag. Valencia's injury shouldn't keep him out long and we can see him back on the pitch as soon as next week.

Andy Carroll is ready to make a difference at West Ham United as he has now returned to full fitness.

The oft-injured striker played the full 90 minutes last time out and despite not registering a good fantasy output, was impressive in real life considering it was only his second match of the season. Carroll will likely improve and he can be considered in fantasy leagues as he comes at a low price tag.
Nov 28 - 4:36 PM

Stewart Downing & Cheikhou Kouyate both returned to training on Thursday and are expected to be available for the weekend.

Downing has been stellar this season and his involvement will be key in West Ham's match against Newcastle. Kouyate has missed extended time this season with injuries but has also shown he can make a difference when on the pitch. We would recommend Downing for fantasy teams this week but would be more cautious with Kouyate.
Nov 28 - 3:38 PM

Winston Reid will serve a one-match ban in gameweek 13 for accumulating five yellow cards.

Reid is a major part of West Ham's success on the defensive side and will be missed against Newcastle. James Collins and James Tomkins are expected to start and both make decent options in fantasy leagues. Despite that, our West Ham defender of choice remains Aaron Cresswell.
Nov 28 - 3:44 PM

Ron Vlaar is missing GW13 with a calf issue as he is still dealing with rumors about a transfer.

The rumors about Ron Vlaar are getting stronger and stronger and we may be seeing the defender move to a big club in January. That should make Villa cautious to make sure he doesn't suffer an injury beforehand so we don't expect to see Vlaar out there unless he is at 100%. His value would increase significantly at a bigger club.
Nov 28 - 3:03 PM

Aston Villa defender Nathan Baker has been ruled out for gameweek 13 with a knee injury.

Villa are also missing Ron Vlaar and Philippe Senderos on the defensive side and that leaves them extremely thin at the position. They were able to scrape by last weekend with Ciaran Clark and Jores Okore starting at center-back, but the duo is not as experienced as Vlaar and Senderos and could prove troublesome this weekend. Aston Villa have an easy matchup against Burnley this week but their defenders are only for the adventurous fantasy manager - consider them high risk, high reward options.
Nov 28 - 2:55 PM

Philippe Senderos has been ruled out for GW13 due to a calf problem.

Senderos has been dealing with the problem for a few weeks now and will miss the weekend's match against Burnley. Senderos is only 29 years old but has been quite injury prone in recent years, making him into a risky player to own in fantasy leagues. With Jores Okore and Ciaran Clark impressing last weekend, we are not sure if Senderos will have a starting spot even when he returns. He will likely be used to provide experience late in games.
Nov 28 - 3:00 PM

Liverpool beat writer James Pearce has repored via Twitter that Mario Balotelli has been ruled out of the Reds match against Stoke City tomorrow.

The news did not offer any information regarding when the enigmatic striker will be expected back, but when you have a limited character restriction on twitter, the lack of detail is understandable. Balotelli has flopped during his chance to lead the line in Daniel Sturridge's absence. Ricky Lambert is next in the pecking order and is a certain lock for Brendan Rodger's XI tomorrow and is available for a budget cost in most fantasy games. With Balotelli nowhere near the pitch tomorrow and a visit from a Potters side that seem to concede within the opening 10 minutes every week, Lambert is a fair shout to score a goal, despite how unappealing the Reds attack has been lately.
Nov 28 - 1:19 PM

Hull City are confident Senegalese midfielder Mo Diame will be available for selection when the Tigers travel to Old Trafford after a scan this week confirmed the player suffered no significant damage in a training ground injury last weekend.

Diame returned from international duty unscathed and his absence against Tottenham was thought to be due to fatigue following his late return after Africa Cup of Nations duty but Steve Bruce confirmed post-match that the midfielder had a problem with the tendon in his knee which required a scan. The news of his potential return is a major boost for Hull who have only won once since their opening day victory over Queens Park Rangers and hover precariously above the relegation zone. Hatem Ben Arfa will once again be pushing for a start while Bruce has a decision to make as Gaston Ramirez is suspended – Stephen Quinn will battle it out with Abel Hernandez for a place in the eleven.
