Chelsea were defeated 0-2 by underdogs Newcastle United, missing their chance to go at least temporarily top of the Premier League table.

Fernando Torres got the start for Jose Mourinho after showing impressive form over the last several matches but he could not deliver today as Chelsea in general looked sluggish and lacking punch, especially after Newcastle scored the opener. With a result like this one today, expect Mourinho to shake up his XI again, just when we were beginning to see a semblance of predictability.

Sergio Aguero's hat-trick - including two goals in the last five minutes - kept Manchester City's Champions League hopes alive in a dramatic victory over Bayern Munich.

The stats tell you all you need to know about Aguero's form this season. 17 goals in 14 starts in all competitions is a remarkable return and the Argentine is - almost single-handedly - keeping Manchester City's title and Champions League aspirations alive. Manuel Pellegrini's men did their best to throw away another lead despite Bayern Munich being down to 10 men for the majority of the match, but Aguero was their saviour, scoring twice in the final five minutes. Win in Rome on 10 December and City should progress to the knock-out stages, but even a draw will be enough if Bayern beat CSKA Moscow.

It hasn't been a very productive second season at Hull City for Jake Livermore so far but Week 12 saw a goal against his former club.

It isn't exactly clear what Jake Livermore is. He isn't an attacking midfielder peppering the net with shots. He isn't a wide creator sprinkling in crosses and making fancy moves on the wing. He isn't a classic number ten dribbling and setting up easy goals for his teammates. He isn't a Makelele-style destroyer from deep or even a Pirlo-like initiator of attacks from a deep lying role. He just sort of "is" without any single outstanding quality. As such, you should probably look at his goal against Spurs as a nicely taken anomaly rather than the start of something.

Wayne Rooney led a lackluster Manchester United effort from a fantasy point of view despite the team winning on the field.

You'd have thought that in beating Arsenal at the Emirates and scoring two goals, Manchester United would have accumulated some solid fantasy points somewhere up and down the roster. As it turns out, Wayne Rooney's 18 points in the Yahoo format and David De Gea's 17 were the only double digit efforts. Part of the blame falls to United's first goal being an own goal and the rest falls to the lack of clean sheet points for the defense after Olivier Giroud's stoppage time goal salvaged some pride.

Alexis Sanchez may not have come out on top against Manchester United but he continued to delivery for fantasy managers.

Even when he isn't scoring goals, Alexis Sanchez is doing things that managers in most fantasy formats will feel good about. With the exception of the PL.com format that is weighted heavily toward goals, assists and clean sheets, Sanchez has been a break out star whether he's scoring in a given match or not. Against United, the Chilean totaled two shots on target, five successful crosses and two corners won on his way to 14 points in the Yahoo format. There aren't many attacking players producing at this level at all, let alone without scoring every week like Diego Costa and Sergio Aguero.

Jack Wilshere could be out for anywhere from three weeks to four months depending on what a scan reveals later this week.

What is certain is that the England midfielder will miss a significant chunk of time with ligament damage following Paddy McNair's challenge on Saturday. If surgery is required then he will likely miss a significant portion of the rest of the current season. If a walking boot is all that is required then he may be able to return just before the calendar turns to 2015. Either way, Arsenal will be forced to continue on with the misfiring Santi Cazorla, the struggling Aaron Ramsey and the aging/past-it Mikel Arteta as their midfield wheelhouse. Not good times at the Emirates.

Victor Moses’ roller-coaster of a season has come to a temporary halt after a scan on Tuesday confirmed the on-loan winger would be out for around eight weeks because of injury.

Moses is looking to rebuild his career which has nosedived since he was signed by Chelsea back in 2012 despite a reasonably successful first season at Stamford Bridge. But after a disappointing loan deal to Liverpool and a mediocre World Cup the Nigerian came to Stoke with a point to prove. However despite averaging [3.9] dribbles per game - the second highest in the BPL - and performing consistently Moses’ gamesmanship has been called into question following a number of alleged ‘diving incidents.’ But on Sunday the attacking midfielder suffered extensive fibre damage in his thigh - his fourth of the season – which is expected to keep him out until early 2015 and could hand Marko Arnautovic with an opportunity to cement his place within the first team.

Sean Dyche has heaped praise on the Manchester United loanee Michael Keane following his second half introduction for the injured Michael Duff during Saturdays’ win at the Britannia Stadium.

Keane has been restricted to just two substitute appearances since his summer loan move from United but with ever-present Michael Duff facing a race against time to make the Aston Villa match in game week thirteen the youngster will be hoping his impressive performance will be enough to earn his first start. The England under-21 international is tipped for an exciting future along with twin brother – William – but the defender needs to secure regular playing time if he hopes to establish himself in the United first team next season after loan spells at Blackburn, Leicester and Derby in recent years.

Nacer Chadli was a noticeable absentee on Sunday as Tottenham travelled to the KC Stadium to take on Hull in game week twelve as Pochettino confirmed his squad was without nine first members including the suspended Kyle Naughton.

The Belgium midfielder was reportedly nursing a knee problem which he picked up while on international duty against Wales prompting Spurs to send their leading scorer for a precautionary scan – the results of which are still unknown. The form of Chadli this season has been one of the few highlights in an otherwise disappointing campaign and any significant absence would be a huge blow particularly with such a heavy fixture schedule coming up. However there was better news as the Argentine coach confirmed Kyle Walker is now back in training, the full-back is expected to return in early December. Emmanuel Adebayor, Roberto Soldado & Etienne Capoue will all be checked before Everton visit White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Eric Dier continued his fantasy slump with a negative score in Tottenham's win at Hull.

Dier was the must-have defender in the Yahoo game back in August after two goals in the opening two games of the season, but things have started drifting in the past month and the young man had found himself benched in recent matches. He was back in the Spurs side for the match at Hull but suffered a difficult first half up against Robbie Brady and was replaced by Vlad Chiriches at half-time after picking up a clumsy yellow card to return -1 fantasy points. At the moment Dier is best left alone until there are clear signs of a return to the first team and a return to form.

Stevan Jovetic scored his first goal since August as Manchester City came from behind to beat Swansea.

Jovetic had an excellent pre-season and started the proper campaign well with two goals in his opening three games before suffering an injury and consequently losing his starting spot to Edin Dzeko, but the roles have now been reversed. Dzeko is currently sidelined with injury so Jovetic is back in the team and scored the equalising goal against Swansea at the weekend, his first since August. If the striker can maintain fitness then he's back on the radar as a fantasy alternative to the expensive Sergio Aguero whenever Manchester City have a decent fixture.

Mile Jedinak was on the score-sheet once again as Crystal Palace came from behind to shock Liverpool at Selhurst Park.

This was another captain's performances from Jedinak as he dominated the midfield with two tackles won and five interceptions, before capping the display with a glorious free-kick to seal the points. The Australian now has four goals this season and has taken on penalty duty, so this attacking production combined with his consistently excellent defensive contributions makes him one of the most valuable midfielders in the Yahoo fantasy game.
