Santi Cazorla scored Arsenal's opener and Aaron Ramsey continued his incredible season to close the deal 2-0 over Liverpool at the Emirates.

In the battle for first place in the table between Arsenal and Liverpool at the Emirates, Santi Cazorla scored from his own rebound to put Arsenal ahead 1-0 in the first half. Olivier Giroud had a couple of makeable chances before the halftime whistle but couldn't make them count. In the second half, the hero of the season so far, Aaron Ramsey, scored from distance to provide the final margin. Mesut Ozil had two chances to put it out of reach but, like Giroud, he couldn't find the back of the net. Liverpool had a couple of decent chances late but Arsenal held on for the clean sheet victory and a five point lead over Liverpool and Chelsea with Spurs still to play on Sunday.

West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic expects Andy Caroll to be fit for their next Monday's clash with Chelsea.

Carroll has scored four goals in his last appearances, but missed the last two matches with a groin injury. Speaking on Carroll's injury, Bilic was optimistic over the chances of his star striker making fitness ahead of the clash with the league-leaders. "The guys from the medical department have told me he's going to start training Tuesday or Wednesday," Bilic said. "Then hopefully four or five days of training, that is always enough for Andy to shine in the next game. So hopefully he is going to be able to play against Chelsea."

Liverpool's top four hopes were dealt another blow after a 3-1 defeat at Leicester City on Monday.

It was night to forget at the King Power Stadium for Liverpool as Leicester City looked like the side that won the title last season, while the visitors were sluggish. Liverpool found themselves facing a two goal deficit at half-time as Jamie Vardy and Daniel Drinkwater buried a pair of chances inside 39 minutes, with Vardy adding a third 15 minutes after half-time. Jurgen Klopp's side would pull one back in the 68th minute through Phillippe Coutinho, but his near-post finish was too little too late. The defeat for Liverpool means they stay in 5th place, on 50 points, and remain just one point above 6th placed Manchester United.

A brace from Jamie Vardy and a goal from Daniel Drinkwater jolted Leicester City to a 3-1 win over Liverpool 3-1 in their first match since sacking Claudio Ranieri last week.

Amid the off pitch adversity, Leicester City produced a brilliant performance under caretaker Craig Shakespeare. While the Foxes had yet to score a league goal in 2017, Jamie Vardy ended their goal drought on 28 minutes when he ran onto a through ball by March Albrighton and finished past Simon Mignolet at the near post. Leicester then extended their lead just before the break when Daniel Drinkwater fired a stellar volley from distance into the the bottom right corner of the net. Shakespeare's side continued to push after the break and found another goal on 60 minutes, as Vardy tallied his brace with a header off a Christian Fuchs cross. Despite conceding eight minutes later, the reigning champions held firm to pull off a must-needed victory and move two points clear of the drop zone.

Iconic forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic added to the prolific Manchester United trophy case in a League Cup title on Sunday.

The Swedish striker added to his growing legend, scoring two goals in the League Cup final in a 3-2 win against Southampton at Wembley Stadium for the first of what he expects to be multiple trophies of his Manchester United career. The first goal, a 25-yard free-kick in the 19th minute, was outdone by his match-winner, a headed effort with just three minutes to go before the final would have gone to extra time. Said Ibrahimovic: "This is what I came for - to win, and I am winning. The more I win the more satisfied I get. You appreciate it more the older you get. Wherever I have gone I have won. I think this is trophy number 32 for me. This is what I predicted. My friend, I keep doing it. I'm enjoying it in England."

Manolo Gabbiadini has wasted no time in adapting to the rigors of a move to England with another brace.

The winter arrival from Napoli single-handedly brought Southampton back from a 2-0 deficit in the League Cup final on Sunday against Manchester United with two goals in three minutes, one on each side of half-time. The Italian international also saw a goal controversially ruled offside that would have given Saints an early 1-0 lead at Wembley. Despite losing 3-2 on a heartbreaking late goal from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Southampton can take solace in knowing that Gabbiadini is money well spent as one of the hottest goalscorers in the country with five goals in just three matches.

Swansea City announced defender Federico Fernandez has signed a new contract through the 2020 season.

The 28-year-old has played a key role in new manager Paul Clement's setup since the departure of Bob Bradley. Just a few months ago, rumors swirled of a winter exit with Fernandez struggled for playing time and his form of old. But the Swans have since climbed up the table and out of the relegation zone with Fernandez as the veteran presence in defense. Said the Spaniard: "It has been good for the team because the results and the performances have been better. And to sign a new deal is something special and something positive for me. I am very happy to have signed the contract."

Mauricio Pochettino confirms Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen will be checked over the coming days after the pair were forced off during Sunday’s 4-0 win over Stoke City at White Hart Lane.

Reports after the match suggest that both players asked to come off as a precaution, although the extent of their problems won’t be known until they are fully assessed. Alderweireld signalled to the bench at the beginning of the second half due to an apparent groin problem while the nature of Vertonghen’s injury is yet to be determined. The Belgium defender was making his first Premier League start since damaging ankle ligaments against West Brom six weeks ago, and the injury maybe related. Tottenham are already without Danny Rose who is "a number of weeks away from a return to full training" and Pochettino can ill-afford to lose another key player with his side pushing hard for a Champions League place.

Tony Pulis has confirmed winger Matt Phillips will undergo a second scan next week after missing the 2-1 win over Bournemouth because of a problem with his hamstring.

West Brom made one change for the visit of Eddie Howe’s men on Saturday as Jonny Evans, available again following a recent calf injury, was recalled in place of Phillips who was omitted from the match day 18. Pulis said his squad had "one or two niggles" heading into game week 26 but there was no specific mention of names and the doubts were thought to James Morrison and Nacer Chadli who were replaced at West Ham due to muscular injuries. However, both players were passed fit and Pulis later admitted "it was too much of a risk" to involve Phillips and lose him "further down the line." The 25-year-old will have another scan on Wednesday to determine his availability for the visit of Crystal Palace next weekend.

Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel was quick to defend the club's players in Claudio Ranieri's dismissal this week.

Reports emerged immediately after Ranieri's departure that the club's senior players had turned on the FIFA Manager of the Year, which was the deciding factor in the board's decision to relieve the Italian of his duties just nine months after leading the club to the Premier League title. The Foxes dropped into the bottom three on Saturday following a win by Crystal Palace and have not won a single match in 2017. Said Schmeichel: "There's absolutely no truth in that whatsoever. We are players and we can only affect on the pitch - and we haven't done that. What happens above our heads at boardroom level is completely out of our control."

All the damage was done in the first half as Harry Kane scored a hat trick and assisted another goal as Tottenham trampled Stoke City, 4-0.

After a forgettable end to their underwhelming showing in European play this season, Tottenham looks to have put that behind them as they carved through the Stoke defense, putting the match away in the first half. Kane scored the game's first three goals, in the 14th, 32nd and 37th minutes. He scored the first goal after a series of passes around the area set him up. The next was a left-footed strike courtesy of a Christian Eriksen corner. Five minutes later, the trick was complete when Eriksen tapped a free kick in the Englishman's path and a shot from range deflected past the keeper. Kane then put the icing on the cake, collecting an assist by unselfishly setting up Dele Alli. The bad news for Spurs is that Toby Alderweireld had to exit early with a leg injury which will be assessed in the coming days.

For the second time this season, Stoke City were thoroughly beaten by Tottenham, losing 0-4 at home back in Week 3 and 4-0 today at White Hart Lane.

The Potters are in much better shape now than when these two sides first met back in September, but you would not have thought that watching them today. A leaky defense that let them down consistently in the early weeks of the season reared its ugly head again today, conceding four times in the opening half. The scoreline could have been more lopsided were it not for a couple of quality saves by Lee Grant. The only glimmer of promise in the attack was from teenager Ramadan Sobhi, who looks capable of setting up chances for his teammates but the rest of the attack were kept in check. Stoke will lick their wounds and look to repair their defense with a nice home matchup against a lackluster Middlesbrough attack.
