Jurgen Klopp is anxiously waiting to discover the extent of the injury suffered by Dejan Lovren during the win over Bournemouth.

The Liverpool centre-back signalled to the bench with ten minutes remaining on Saturday and was immediately replaced by teammate Ragnar Klavan. Speaking during his post-match interview, Klopp explained that it was too early to determine the precise nature of the problem although it did appear to be muscular. "I would love it if it [was] a knock [rather than] a strain or tear [but] I have no clue," he said. "He felt something but I didn’t speak to him afterwards, I only saw that he was limping." Hopefully the injury is not too serious with a Champions League semi-final tie against Roma coming up. Joe Gomez [ankle] is set to miss the game and Joel Matip [thigh] has already been ruled for the remainder of the campaign. Klavan is only recently back after a period on the sidelines while Nathaniel Clyne has just one Premier League start since recovering from back surgery.

Southampton's new midfielder Mohamed Elyounoussi joins the club with a formidable record from his time in Norway and Switzerland.

The 23 year-old started his senior career in Norway at Sarpsborg before signing for one of the country's biggest clubs, Molde. At Molde, he scored 42 goals in 92 appearances. Elyounoussi then moved to Basel where he spent two seasons. It proved to be a great incubator for the player, as he got Champions League experience and put in performances which attracted the interest of clubs as big as Arsenal. For Basel he had 23 goals and 30 assists in 84 games. "I'm at my best when I use my creativity, so I think the club's philosophy will suit me," said the player when he signed. He could be a vast improvement on the departed Dusan Tadic for 6.5m in the Official Fantasy PL game this season.

Alexis Sanchez has been forced to miss the start of Manchester United's pre-season tour of the United States as his visa application was unsuccessful.

The 29 year-old accepted a 16-month suspended jail sentence in February for tax fraud in Spain. According to US law, no person found guilty of fraud can be granted a visa to enter the country. Sanchez will be able to enter the US if he and his lawyers can successfully navigate the waiver scheme to get a visa granted, but this is taking longer than they originally thought. Sanchez was pictured at Carrington last week training with the rest of his Manchester United teammates.

On July 1st, Bournemouth completed the signing of 21 year-old David Brooks from Sheffield United.

Over two weeks later, he remains the only addition Eddie Howe has made to his squad this transfer window. The highly rated Welshman reportedly required a transfer fee in excess of $13 million. Since his August 2016 debut, Brooks made 37 appearances for the Blades in total, however he completed just four 90 full games in the Championship last term. Brooks is priced at 5.0 in the Official FPL game, which would usually be very encouraging for an attacking-midfielder or shadow striker Unfortunately, given Brooks' lack of first-team experience previously as well as his paltry 3 goals and 5 assists in 30 league appearances (albeit averaging a return every 143 minutes) it is unlikely that he will be a good FPL asset early in the season. I expect him to be slowly introduced to the first team throughout the campaign as Lewis Cook was last season.

Manager David Wagner confirmed centre-back Christopher Schindler is in clear after limping off during the 3-0 pre-season defeat at League One side Accrington Stanely on Saturday.

Huddersfield manager David Wagner used 22 different players in the second game of pre-season clash, with one side playing the first hour and the second the final half hour. Despite the majority of the squad getting minutes, it was an overall lacklustre performance. Centre-back Christopher Schindler and midfielder Sean Scannell were both forced off, but Wagner confirmed neither injury was serious. "Sean Scannell and Christopher Schindler (both came off with knocks) have dead legs; that is all," said Wagner. "It’s nothing serious." New signing Erik Durm wasn't involved but will begin training next week, while Danny Williams is still recovering from a fractured fibula.

West Ham United have completed the signing of Felipe Anderson from Lazio for a club-record fee.

The 25-year-old joins the Hammers on a four-year contract in a deal worth up to £42 million with add-ons. Anderson scored eight goals and provided ten assists in 32 appearances for Lazio in the Serie A last season, and led the league in dribbles with an average of 5.4 per game. In total, the Brazilian supplied 25 goals and 33 assists in 137 league appearances for the Italian club. Anderson becomes the club's seventh signing of the summer window and breaks the club record fee set when Issa Diop completed his move (£21.9m) earlier this month. Said the attacking midfielder: "I want to thank the owner, David Sullivan, because he made a big effort to bring me here. I know how difficult it was, so I have to thank him a lot, and I hope I can repay his faith in me on the pitch with goals and winning games."

Brighton face an anxious wait while they determine the extent of the injury sustained by striker Glenn Murray during Saturdays 1-1 draw with Swiss side FC St. Gallen.

Last season’s top scorer was replaced shortly after the half-hour mark having failed to shake off what appeared to be a right ankle injury. The Seagulls first pre-season friendly brings to a close their training camp in Austria: "It’s been a very good week and the weather has been very hot. The facilities were excellent, and we were really well looked after," said manager Chris Hughton. Brighton were missing the likes of Mat Ryan, Jose Izquierdo and Leon Balogun who have been given additional time off due to their involvement in Russia while new signings Jason Steele and Florin Andone had minor issues and were not risked. Centre-back Shane Duffy is recovering from groin surgery after aggravating the problem on international duty. Murray will be assessed but initial reports suggest the problem "didn’t look too serious, and [was] perhaps, due to the strains of a week of intense fitness work."

Robbie Brady was forced to sit out of Burnley’s first pre-season friendly, however, the Republic of Ireland international insists: "I’m feeling really good."

Brady has been sidelined for the past seven months after suffering a serious knee injury at Leicester, but the midfielder is close to a return after taking part in the club’s southern Ireland training camp: "I’ve got a few more weeks before the season starts so I’ll be doing everything in my power to get myself in the best condition and hopefully I’ll be ready to go." Speaking ahead of the game against Cork City, manager Sean Dyche decided not to risk the 26-year-old: "We will have to be careful with Robbie. He’s going really well but it is still early in his progress." Steven Defour was also missing from the Clarets line-up after suffering a minor setback; the Belgian is recovering from knee surgery but picked up a minor calf injury. Matt Lowton [groin] was another absentee but James Tarkowski played 45 minutes for the first time since surgery to remedy a Hernia problem.

Jamie Vardy and World Cup sensation Harry Maguire could miss Leicester City’s opening Premier League fixture following their involvement in Russia.

Vardy was nothing more than a bit-part player during the tournament, starting just one game [157 minutes], as Gareth Southgate entrusted captain Harry Kane with England’s goal scoring responsibilities. However, Maguire, came to prominence on the world’s biggest stage following a string of outstanding performances with the centre-back starting every game, bar one, during the tournament. Both players will be given additional time-off to recover from their summer exertions. "It will be difficult to manage all of the international players when they come back because it will be important to find again the good focus and good concentration," manager Claude Puel told LCFC.com. "For some players with England [Vardy and Maguire], perhaps they will come back just 15 days before the beginning of the season, we will see." Leicester kick-off their campaign at Old Trafford as part of Friday night football on August 10.

Marko Arnautovic scored the lone goal of the match as West Ham United claimed a 1-0 friendly victory at Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.

Manager Manuel Pellegrini made seven changes to the starting XI from the 3-2 defeat against FC Winterthur. Andriy Yarmolenko, who made his debut just four days after signing as a Hammer, fellow summer signing centre-back Issa Diop and midfielder Robert Snodgrass were among the changes. Also making his first appearance of the pre-season was Arnautovic, who fired home the winner after 34 minutes. Adrian retained his place in between the sticks and made a pair of saves late on to secure the club's first win of the pre-season. West Ham's next pre-season match is next Saturday against Championship side Preston North End.

Chelsea have announced its first signing of the summer with a permanent move for Napoli midfielder Jorginho.

The 26-year-old has signed a five-year deal to join his former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri, who was appointed at Chelsea earlier today, at Stamford Bridge. Jorginho was a crucial piece in Sarri's midfielder during their time together at Napoli. Between 2015 and 2017, the deep-lying playmaker provided four goals and 11 assists in 108 appearances in all competitions. A deep-lying playmaker known for his technical qualities, Jorginho is expected to be a regular alongside N'Golo Kante given his prior success in Sarri's fast-paced, possessioned-based style of play. Jorginho told Chelsea's official website: ‘I am absolutely ecstatic to be here at Chelsea. It is not easy to become part of such a big team, so I am very, very happy. I am excited to play in such an intense league, for a team that gives everything to play and win."

Huddersfield Town completed the permanent transfer of Borussia Dortmund defender Erik Durm for an undisclosed fee on Friday.

A 2014 World Cup winner with Germany, Durm is capable of playing on the left or right in fullback or wing-backs roles and will provide competition for Chris Lowe and Florent Hadergjonaj. The 26-year-old made 64 Bundesliga appearances for Dortmund between 2013 and 2017, scoring two goals and providing seven assists, but failed to play last season through injury. Durm is well known to Huddersfield boss David Wagner, who signed him for Borussia Dortmund II in 2012 and converted him from a striker to a defender. "It is not every day that you can bring a player of the quality of Erik to your Club," Wagner said. "Obviously I know Erik well from our time together at Dortmund, and he has all the qualities to be a great success in our ‘Terriers Identity'.
