Ainsley Maitland-Niles has committed his future to the club he has been with since age 9 after he signed a long-term contract with the Gunners this week.

Maitland-Niles broke into the first team in a significant way over the course of the 2017-18 season and his new manager sees a bright future for him. Perhaps the biggest question facing Unai Emery is where he sees Maitland-Niles' future. Arsene Wenger played the England youth international in central midfield and at both outside back positions over the course of last season. Emery reportedly had a detailed dossier on Maitland-Niles while interviewing for the Arsenal job so he likely has a strong opinion on the topic but has yet to share where on the pitch the player's future might lie.

Aaron Ramsey assisted on both Arsenal goals in a two minute stretch that saw the Gunners best Everton 2-0.

It wasn't a great Arsenal performance nor were either of Aaron Ramsey's assists things of beauty. In both cases, they were enough to give Arsenal a win. It was also the Gunners' first clean sheet of the season despite shaky defending for all of the first half and much of the second.

Jordan Pickford is among the worst in the Premier League in terms of goals conceded as their 2-0 loss brought the total to 11.

The company Pickford are keeping in terms of goals conceded include teams that have played Manchester City, face relegation, or both. Not good company to keep for Marco Silva's side who have not played City (or Liverpool) and should be well above the relegation zone come the end of the season. Still the defense is struggling enough that goals should be expected from Everton's opponents.

After a mid-week rest, Petr Cech was Arsenal's standout performer in the first half against Everton.

The former Chelsea goalkeeper was excellent in the first half as he made huge saves on Dominic Calvert-Lewin early and then Theo Walcott later in the half. The Gunners will need a heroic performance from Cech if the defense doesn't improve.

In their best defensive performance of the year, the Hammers were able to contain Chelsea. Unfortunately for them, they were unable to score leading to a 0-0 draw.

West Ham came out in this game looking to hit Chelsea on the counter but it was clear early on that they were missing their talisman in Marko Arnautovic. With Mikail Antonio leading the line, there wasn’t enough firepower up top to push the Hammers to victory. Their best chance fell to Andriy Yarmolenko in the 76th minute but the forward was unable to finish his chance. Next up, the Hammers will take on Macclesfield Town in the league cup and Manchester United in the league as the going is about to get tough for the team just above the relegation zone.

After playing well as a substitute, Lucas Torreira made his first Premier League start in Week 6 against Everton.

Looking for some additional defensive solidity, Unai Emery has elected to give Lucas Torreira his first Premier League start. Matteo Guendouzi was the player to make way.

Rudinger was substituted off for Gary Cahill in the 68th minute in Chelsea’s 0-0 draw with West Ham.

While the severity of Rudinger’s suspected groin injury is unknown at this time, it could offer an entryway for Gary Cahill to earn his way back into the Chelsea side. While the center back expressed that if he doesn’t play he would like to leave the club, if Chelsea rolls with him in the lineup, Cahill could keep his place.

Maurizio Sarri will leave a decision on Pedro’s involvement until the last-minute after he was helped off on Thursday night following an awkward fall deep into time added-on.

Chelsea will be looking to maintain their 100 per cent start to the season against London-rivals West Ham at the Olympic Stadium, but they may have to do it without the Spanish winger despite an encouraging post-match update from the Blues boss. "The problem is [his] shoulder, but I don't know exactly the situation," he said following the 1-0 win over POAK. "The doctor told me that probably it's not a very serious injury." Mateo Kovacic should be available despite limping off with a dead leg in the win over Cardiff City while Cesc Fabregas [knee] and Ruben Loftus-Cheek [shin] were included in the Europa League matchday squad. Davide Zappacosta is over his recent bout of illness and completed 90 minutes in Greece, but team-mate Emerson, who is suffering from a sore throat is considered a doubt.

Wilfried Zaha started and played a full 90 minutes despite sustaining a back/shoulder problem during the warmup.

During the warmup prior to the match, Zaha was escorted to the dressing room by the training staff while he held his back, just behind his neck. Zaha's news was the most noteworthy of the match, which ended in a 0-0 draw to give Aaron Wan-Bissaka and the Crystal Palace defense its second straight clean sheet.Palace had plenty of chances throughout the match and clearly looked the better side but Luka Milivojevic was unlucky to hit the post in 37th minute while Mamadou Sakho and James McArthur missed tap-ins in the final 10 minutes of the match that ended in a point for either team.

Burnley had easily their best performance of the season, exploding for four goals and keeping a clean sheet in an eye-opening 4-0 win over Bournemouth.

After struggling through the first month and change, Burnley had a coming out party today. Looking to find some goals up top, Sean Dyche handed Matej Vydra his first start and the move paid off with the striker grabbing the opening goal by sticking home a rebound of an Ashley Westwood shot. Two minutes later, it was 2-0 when Aaron Lennon found the net with a sliding half-volley from a Johann Berg Gudmundsson cross. Dyche made another smart move up top, introducing Ashley Barnes who would score a brace in four minutes, one from a rebound off the bar, another from a Lennon pass.

An own-goal, a Joel Matip header, and a poacher's finish sealed a 3-0 victory for Liverpool over Southampton on Saturday.

Liverpool were ahead after just ten minutes. Xherdan Shaqiri, a surprise starter in a line-up which included all of the usual front three, fired in a cross from the left which deflected off Shane Long and Wesley Hoedt into the net. Matip grabbed the second soon after, rising above Vestergaard to head in Trent Alexander-Arnold's corner. Salah made it three just before the break after he won the race to prod home a Shaqiri free-kick which hit the crossbar. Luck wasn't on Southampton's side on the day, but Liverpool were good value for their win when you take into account that Salah had a second goal disallowed.

AFC Bournemouth's positive start to the campaign came to a crashing halt after a sobering 4-0 loss at the hands of a rejuvenated Burnley side.

Two teams off to two very different starts saw their form shift drastically in the opposite direction and it was the Cherries who took the giant fall. It was a frustrating match to say the least, with very little in terms of quality chances created all afternoon, despite the Clarets allowing the visitors several opportunities to get the ball in dangerous areas. Only one attempt forced Joe Hart into a challenging save, and that came from a nice run by David Brooks who darted into the box before seeing his hard blast blocked. That would have cut a two goal deficit in half, instead the Cherries would concede twice more, putting a painful end to a long day.
