Tim Krul counted an exceptional stop on a flurry of attempts in front of his goal as he kept a clean sheet and got a road win at White Hart Lane.

Spurs consistently tested Tim Krul on Sunday but the Dutch keeper was up to the task allowing Newcastle to ride a first half Loic Remy goal to an unexpected road win. The outcome continued two trends - Spurs inability to score and Newcastle's impressive run of form. Newcastle followed up their victory over Chelsea in Week 10 with a win over Spurs in Week 11 - heady times on Tyneside. Spurs, on the other hand, failed to score for the second match running and are in danger of squandering their fast start to the season for a lack of goals.

Manchester United striker James Wilson is continuing his recovery from an anterior cruciate ligament injury suffered this season while on loan at Derby County.

The young striker was just beginning to make progress towards winning a first team place for the Championship club when the injury struck him down in training in October. Since then, the 21 year old has been back at United's training ground Carrington in rehabilitation after terminating his loan at the iPro. He is still confined to gym and pool work currently, but he hopes to return to training on the turf soon. He hopes to maintain a positive outlook as he continues his return, with no end in sight yet: "I think, for anyone, it’s tough to come back from this sort of setback. It depends how you look at it. Like I’ve said a few times, I’ve taken the positives out of it and just not tried to rush anything. I think I’m doing quite well really. I can see progress between what I am like now and what I was like after surgery...."

Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is in demand from clubs in both the Premier League and Championship.

Johnstone, 24, is currently on loan a Steve Bruce's Aston Villa in the Championship, where he has instantly become an integral part of the starting XI since arriving during the January transfer window. Bruce is rumoured to want to retain his services after his loan expires at the end of the season with a £3 million deal being touted in the media. However, Premier League clubs Bournemouth, Everton, and Sunderland are tracking the man who has kept 5 clean sheets in his last 6 Championship appearances too. Johnstone is expected to move away from Old Trafford this summer as he still sits third in the pecking order behind De Gea and Romero plus his contract at the club expires in June 2018.

Southampton manager Claude Puel has confirmed that star striker Manolo Gabbiadini will not be available for selection for Saturday's clash with Bournemouth.

The 25 year old Italian has made a blistering start to his career on the south coast but has not recovered from a groin problem suffered in the 2-1 defeat to Tottenham over two weeks ago. When confirming the expected news, Puel said: ""I think that Gabbiadini cannot play this game... He is not available, but we will see for the next one."

Southampton striker Charlie Austin is nearing a return to action after missing the last three and a half months after shoulder surgery.

The former QPR player was forced off during the last game of the Saints' unsuccessful Europa League campaign back in December, but his manager Claude Puel is optimistic that he may be available before the season draws to a close. Speaking in a press conference on Thursday, Puel said: "Charlie has made progress". "He needs to see his doctor from the surgery, but all the process is good for him. He added that: "At the moment he trains alone, but he is doing good work and I hope he can come back in three weeks, I think."

Southampton manager Claude Puel has revealed centre-back Virgil Van Dijk may not play again this season.

Van Dijk, 25, suffered an ankle injury in a clash with Jamie Vardy in January which has sidelined him up until now and into the future. Puel explained in his pre-match press conference on Thursday that he may not make an appearance again before the season concludes: "It’s a long injury. We will see if he comes back before the end of the season". However, he was quick to impress upon journalists the importance of the Dutchman to his team: ""The injury does not change anything... He is an important player for us, our captain, and it is important he takes this role with good quality, good attitude and good spirit." Puel added that he hopes the captaincy role will help the player mature into the future.

Southampton manager Claude Puel is expected to continue his January interest in Mamadou Sakho into the summer.

Sakho, 27, is currently on-loan and in-form at Crystal Palace after moving to the London outfit in January after being frozen out of the first team squad at parent club Liverpool by Jurgen Klopp. Southampton are thought to have enquired about the availability of the Frenchman in January but retracted their interest after Liverpool slapped a £20 million price tag on the centre-back. Southampton will be especially keen on Sakho's signature if they fail to retain the currently injured Virgil Van Dijk over the summer. He is much sought after by some of the biggest club in England and abroad so the Saints will have their work cut out to hold onto the Dutchman.

Dusan Tadic and his manager Claude Puel have discussed his allegation that the manager has not shown him "enough respect" this season.

The Serbian playmaker was speaking after the 2-1 loss to Spurs when he was subbed for the fifth game in a row: "It’s unbelievable that I was subbed again and we also lost." He added: "You can see statistically that we concede or lose when I’ve been taken off. I don’t think this shows enough respect for me." His manager said in his pre-match press conference on Thursday that the duo spoke when Tadic returned from international duty, and that the matter has been dealt with internally. He elaborated that Tadic understands he shouldn't have made the comment, and should instead try to do his talking on the pitch.

West Bromwich Albion do not appear to have any concerns about Gareth McAuley's age, given his recent form.

The Baggies announced McAuley has signed a new contract that will extend his current deal into next season, when he will turn 38 years old. But McAuley has started all 29 of the club's Premier League matches this season and is the league's top-scoring defender with seven goals. Said the Scottish international: "I’d like to thank the Club, the gaffer and everyone here who helps me to stay fit to be able to play at this level. It’s very, very pleasing. When I signed I just wanted to play in the Premier League and I knew that wasn’t a given when I came here. But I’ve still got that desire sitting here today. I don’t think that will leave me."

Arsenal fans were not too pleased with the latest Alexis Sanchez news following his comments in the Chilean media.

Said Sanchez after scoring in Chile's 3-0 win against Venezuela in World Cup qualifying: "I am happy in London and hope to finish my contract there. I'd like to stay in the city but with a team that is winning things, that has a winning mentality." Fans and pundits across England suggested the comments hinted at joining Chelsea, one of the clubs that are reportedly interested in making a summer move along with Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus. Even with a year left on his current contract, Arsenal is reportedly not willing to part with the attacking star for less than £50 million.

Everton expect defender Ramiro Funes Mori to miss the remainder of the season after sustaining a knee injury while on international duty.

The Argentine was stretchered off against Bolivia in La Paz on Tuesday evening and he will meet with a specialist later this week to determine whether he needs surgery to repair the damaged meniscus in his knee. Funes Mori only lost his place in the Everton starting line-up recently, to Phil Jagielka, and the 26-year-old was touted as a potential replacement for Seamus Coleman who suffered a double leg fracture playing for the Republic of Ireland last Friday. Ronald Koeman may now turn to youngster Mason Holgate to fill at right-back as the Everton squad begins to look a little stretchered ahead of Saturdays Merseyside derby. The winger made only 14 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring two goals.
