Mathieu Debuchy picked up his fifth yellow card of the season (four in the League, one in the League Cup) and will be suspended for Norwich City's week 12 visit to St James Park.

Debuchy has been a fantasy stud this year and managers will hate to see him missing from such a tasty matchup. His absence may see Davide Santon switch flanks and Masadio Haidara come in. Otherwise, a center back may have to play out-of-position on the right.

The gap between Stoke City and relegation-zoned Swansea City shrunk this afternoon, as a missed penalty by Marko Arnautovic was the defining moment in a 2-0 loss.

The biggest news of the day for Stoke was the return of Jack Butland, but it was clear the keeper was not completely comfortable, spilling the ball a couple of times, but he did make a class save in the second half, looking the Butland of old. The Potters gave up an early goal though and offered little in terms of attack, with Saido Berahino wasting a golden chance just before halftime. Still, Stoke had a chance to get a result, as a foul on Xherdan Shaqiri in the box set up a penalty kick for Arnautovic. The Austrian international blasted it into Southern Wales sky and, less than a minute later, the Swans doubled their lead, which put the game away. Stoke are still firmly in midtable but may be running out of reasons to play with motivation.

Bournemouth were deserved winners at the Vitality Stadium as Middlesbrough offered little resistance in a spineless performance.

Josh King opened the scoring for Cherries just one minute and 36 seconds into the tie. Pugh passed by the hapless Barragan with ease before firing in a cross for his Norwegian striker, who finished from close range. Gaston Ramirez then proceeded to have a disciplinary meltdown. He attempted a dive but failed to deceive the referee, earning himself a caution. He pointlessly fouled Pugh minutes later after Afobe had doubled Bournemouth's lead, earning himself the early bath he seemed to be looking for. De Roon had a good effort for 'Boro before he was hauled off with an injury. In the second half, Bournemouth pushed relentlessly and the visitors acquiesced, with Pugh notching up the third before Daniels scored a fine fourth. 'Boro will be playing in the Championship next season unless a miracle occurs.

It may not have been pretty, but injury-plagued West Ham wrung all the life out of Everton's attack in a 0-0 draw at the Olympic Stadium.

It was the best defensive performance of the season by far for the Hammers, who made the Premier League's leading goalscorer in Romelu Lukaku anonymous. Buoyed by the return of Winston Reid in a three-man backline with Adrian back in goal, West Ham held Everton without a single shot on target. Even without Andy Carroll, Sam Byram and a bevy of regular starters, Slaven Bilic's men extended their undefeated streak to three matches after a dreadful seven-game winless streak put Bilic on the hot seat. Due to the myriad absences, Bilic placed three Academy prospects on the bench: Nathan Holland, Declan Rice and Moses Makasi.

Tom Carroll scored his first goal for Swansea City and it helped the Jacks to a 2-0 win over Stoke City, as the Jack continue their struggle to rise above the relegation zone.

Paul Clement told his squad that today's match was a must-win and the Swans did not disappoint. They enjoyed the benefit of an early goal, as Fernando Llorente turned the ball in from a Gylfi Sigurdsson corner on ten minutes. They suffered a blow a few minutes later, as Leroy Fer collided with Jack Butland and could not continue. The Jacks preserved their lead into halftime and past the hour mark, but they got lucky when they conceded a penalty chance. However, Stoke wasted the opportunity and, less than a minute later, Tom Carroll took a short pass from Jordan Ayew and sent a deep left-footed strike that looped in over the keeper and sealed three massive points. The Swans are still in the relegation zone, with Hull being the likeliest club they could catch, but the Tigers also won today, so the pressure continues in South Wales.

Antonio Conte named Eden Hazard and Diego Costa on the Chelsea bench for Saturdays FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham Hotspur.

Former England international, and current BBC pundit Gary Lineker, revealed via his personal Twitter account around 3:30pm that the pair had been dropped, news which was confirmed officially 45 minutes later. Undoubtedly, Conte picked his side with one eye on Tuesdays Premier League clash vs Southampton, with today’s opponents pushing hard in second place just four-points behind. As expected, Chelsea were able to welcome back Thibaut Courtois [ankle], Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso [both illness] but despite a return to training, Gary Cahill was not risked at Wembley. Nathan Ake was named in the starting XI for the first time since February while Michy Batshuayi comes in for only his third start of the year.

There wasn't anything for the vaunted Everton attack to brag about following a dull scoreless draw against West Ham.

Everton hasn't been held scoreless in two months (since a 0-0 draw with Middlesbrough in Gameweek 25), but to be held without a shot on target is a new low for a side that boasts the Premier League's top goalscorer in Romelu Lukaku. The Toffees entered Saturday afternoon with 21 goals in their last seven Premier League matches, only to put together a sluggish showing against a second-rate West Ham side plagued by injuries. The only news of any value was the return of goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg, who has not featured for the club since Gameweek 17.

The remarkable change in Hull's fortunes since Marco Silva arrived at the club has almost brought safety after they won 2-0 on Saturday against Watford.

Immediately after the kick off, neither side threatened, with Hull subdued and Watford mainly relying on long-balls to get behind the Tigers' sluggish centre-back pairing of Maguire and Ranocchia. However, the first half became controversial when referee Bobby Madley sent off Oumar Niasse for a tackle on Niang. The Senegalese striker could be accused of trailing his leg but seemed to lack any intent to bring down Watford's man. However, the decision didn't spoil the home side's chances and instead they rallied after the break. Hull broke after Capoue had a fine effort saved by Jakupovic, and Grosicki crossed in for Markovic who headed past Gomes. Sam Clucas copper-fastened the lead on 70', rifling a shot into the top corner from distance to confirm his side's victory.

Zlatan Ibrahimović and Marcos Rojo will miss the best part of a year after tests confirm they have suffered cruciate knee-ligament injuries.

Both players were injured during Thursday night’s Europa League win over Anderlecht, and for Ibrahimović at least, it could be his last game for the club, or maybe, even his career. The 35-year-old is said to have suffered damage to his anterior and posterior ligament, which could, after surgical intervention, take around a year to heal fully. Zlatan is out of contract in the summer and the club are under no obligation to extend his current deal. The prognosis for Rojo is a little better, but reports of a return within four months appear to be a little wide of the mark. If the anterior cruciate has ruptured, his recovery will be closer to 9 months. Jose Mourinho said that Chris Smalling and Phil Jones may need to play through the pain: "They have injuries and they cannot [be involved on] Sunday. There are no miracles but with special spirit you can sooner than expected. So instead of mid-May you [return] beginning of May."

Reports on Saturday suggest Daniel Sturridge could miss tomorrows clash at Anfield having sat out of "several" training sessions this week.

The injury-plagued striker has endured another hugely disappointing season, only five Premier League starts [2-goals], and his days at Liverpool look to be numbered following his fourth injury of 2017 [calf / hip / ankle]. But while Sturridge remains a major doubt, Joel Matip and Lucas Leiva look to be winning their race to recover from muscular injuries in time to face Crystal Palace. Ragnar Klavan [knee] is expected to miss out and Jürgen Klopp "may try" Joe Gomez who has impressed for the Under-23s recently. Even though Firmino is training away from the main group, the Brazilian star will be fine as the club carefully manage him between games due to concerns that he is in the "red zone" [increased injury risk].

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has admitted that his side are "in trouble" as their injury list continues to grow.

Speaking at his pre-GW34 press conference, Mourinho said that there were fears that Marcos Rojo will join fellow centre-backs Chris Smalling and Phil Jones on the sideline, leaving United with limited options and a lot of weight falling on the shoulders of Eric Bailly: ""Eric Bailly has played six matches in a row – 540 minutes in a row... We lost Marcos Rojo, we don’t have Jones, we don’t have Smalling." He added that his side do have options in attack even without Zlatan: "Rooney is coming and let’s see if Mata can also return before the end of the season." He added that the clob record scorer can have a big part to play in the final weeks of the season and revealed that his two rested players, Herrera and Young, will start against Burnley at the weekend.

Joe Allen, out last weekend with a hamstring injury, trained during the week and there is a reasonable chance that he will play some role against his former club Swansea in Week 34.

A return to the Liberty Stadium for the Wales international is probably always a sentimental event. He came up with the Swans and his performances there earned him a big money move to Liverpool. Week 34 sees Allen at yet another crossroads of sorts. He started out the season in incredible form and has stalled significantly since. Perhaps a week or two off after a summer playing for Wales in the Euros on top of returning to a regular starting role at Stoke City is just what Allen needs to finish the season strong. If you have to make a decision on Allen before line-ups come out, he's not certain enough to play. If you can wait and he starts, you wouldn't bet against him coming up big back at home in Wales.
