Nemanja Vidic was concussed in a clash with David De Gea. The defender was taken off before half-time and admitted to the hospital. He's since been released, but his availability is still in question.

The international break should give Vidic enough time to recover, but he'll need clearance from the medical staff before he's even available to train again.

Cardiff City striker Fraizer Campbell has joined Crystal Palace.

Sky Sports had already reported that a fee had been agreed between Crystal Palace and Cardiff, before Premier League new-boys Leicester City tried to gazump the deal by meeting Campbell's release clause. However, talks with the Foxes collapsed and the BBC have now confirmed that a £900,000 deal taking Campbell to Selhurst Park has been completed.

Manchester City stepped up their preparations for their Premier League title defence with a 4-1 victory over MLS champions Sporting Kansas City on Thursday.

After a shaky start to pre-season Manchester City have got things going, with back to back victories in Scotland and the US. The goals in this 4-1 win came from Bruno Zuculini, Dedryck Boyata, Kelechi Iheanacho and pre-season penalty taker Aleksandar Kolarov, who has taken on the duty in the absence of Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero. New signing Willy Caballero featured in goal, while Micah Richards got a rare run-out in the second half.

Glenn Murray and Jake Gray were on target as Crystal Palace began their US tour with a 2-2 stalemate against Columbus Crew.

Murray continued his solid start to pre-season with his third goal in two games, as Palace were held to a draw in Ohio. The striker missed the majority of the Eagles' return to the Premier League last season as he recovered from a cruciate ligament injury, but he's looking sharp as Tony Pulis continued to ease him back in with another 45 minutes of action. As the club's designated penalty taker, Murray could prove a handy budget option for the Yahoo fantasy game, priced at less than £3million.

Gylfi Sigurdsson has completed his move to Swansea from Tottenham.

Sigurdsson spent the 2011/12 season on loan at Swansea from Hoffenheim and had an extremely successful spell, scoring seven goals, but the resulting move to Spurs never really worked out. He returns to the Liberty Stadium on a permanent basis as part of the deal that saw Ben Davies and Michel Vorm move in the opposite direction. The move makes sense for both the clubs and the player, and would also be good news for fantasy managers, with Sigurdsson likely to be handed a first team role and set piece duty under Garry Monk's stewardship.

Record-signing Erik Lamela scored twice in the first half as Tottenham beat FC Toronto 3-2 in a pre-season friendly.

Is this the first sign of the "new lease of life" Lamela mentioned in an interview earlier in the week? The winger was excellent in the first half of this match, looking fit, sharp and showing a good understanding with team-mates Christian Eriksen, Aaron Lennon and Roberto Soldado. Lamela hit two good strikes with his left foot - both assisted by Soldado - with substitute Andros Townsend adding the winner late in the game after Toronto had fought back from two goals down. This was another good work out for Mauricio Pochettinho's squad, although five goals conceded in two games will be a slight concern, even at this early stage of pre-season.

Argentine club Newell's Old Boys have confirmed the signing of Sunderland striker Ignacio Scocco.

As we discussed yesterday, Scocco signed in January and was expected to provide competition for Steven Fletcher and Jozy Altidore, but the move has been a disaster. The 29-year-old striker failed to start a game or score a goal after his arrival, as Gus Poyet limited him to just six disappointing Premier League appearances from the bench, and Sunderland have decided to cut their losses. Scocco is returning for his third spell at the Argentine club.

Mauro Zarate scored his first goal for West Ham United in their 2-1 loss to Wellington Phoenix.

Zarate was acquired to support Andy Carroll in attack but with the big man getting injured again, Zarate could find himself leading the line for West Ham at the beginning of the season. He costs £5.50M in the Yahoo game and is listed as a midfielder, making him a bargain for fantasy managers. To make the deal sweeter, West Ham have a favorable schedule to start the season with games against Tottenham, Crystal Palace, Southampton, and Hull City. Enner Valencia also gets a big bump with Andy Carroll's injury struggles.

Ben Davies and Michel Vorm have both completely their moves from Swansea City to Tottenham Hotspur today according to the Spurs official Twitter feed.

Both moves have been in the press as being essentially done deals for over a week but today brings official word that Spurs have a new left back in Ben Davies and a new goalkeeper in Michel Vorm. Based on his form two seasons ago, the notion of Vorm accepting a back-up role to Hugo Lloris would be odd but after a disappointing season that was also marred by injury and the arrival of Lukasz Fabianski, he was surplus to requirements. Davies will be the presumed starter ahead of Danny Rose who has been rumored to be on the move himself. No word as to whether Gylfi Sigurdsson will be moving in the opposite direction.

Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert has made it clear that defender Ron Vlaar is not for sale.

There has been interest for Vlaar after his impressive World Cup performance but the Aston Villa defender has been labeled not for sale. Paul Lambert is under pressure to improve his team's performance and the loss of Vlaar would be huge. Ron Vlaar has a year left on his contract but Lambert is determined to get Vlaar to agree to an extension soon. Vlaar's fantasy value can increase as Villa's defense improves with the return of Jores Okore.

Felipe Luis made his Chelsea debut in a friendly 1-1 draw against WAC RZ Pellets.

Luis Felipe started at left-back in a back line featuring Branislav Ivanovic, John Terry, and Kurt Zouma. He played the entire first half and part of the second and was replaced by Nathan Ake. Luis looks like he'll be a regular starter at Stamford Bridge this season. Jose Mourinho chose to play everyone in the squad in this match as he tries to bring his players to match fitness. Fernando Torres, Cesar Azpilicueta, Gary Cahill, Cesc Fabregas, and Diego Costa were absent as they were given time to recover from their World Cup participation earlier this summer.

Petr Cech started for the first time since suffering a shoulder injury at the end of the last year.

Cech started in Chelsea's friendly against Austrian side WAC RZ Pellets and appeared healthy. There is uncertainty at the position this year as Chelsea have brought back youngster Thibaut Courtois who was on loan for the past two seasons. Courtois has repeatedly stated he wants playing time but Petr Cech is still in his prime so it's unknown what Chelsea will do. The two most likely options are loaning out Courtois or selling Cech to a club outside of the Premier League. Whoever ends up with the job will be an immediate candidate for top fantasy goalkeeper this season.
