Ricky Van Wolfswinkel, who has been struggling with a toe injury, is targeting Norwich's match against Swansea for his return.

Norwich have been hit by injuries to key attackers all season, with Robert Snodgrass and Anthony Pilkington the latest to go down. Van Wolfswinkel's return would be a boost to the club, but only if it coincided with the striker finding his goal-scoring touch as well.

The latest reports suggest Crystal Palace have triggered a release clause for Newcastle United winger Andros Townsend with the 24-year-old reportedly considering a move to Selhurst Park.

Townsend arrived at St. James’ Park in January for a fee believed to be in the region of £12million from Tottenham and was one of the few bright spots for a United side which dropped down to the second tier of English football. Scoring four times from 12 starts, Townsend created 26 chances and provided two assists – performances which almost earned him a place at Euro 2016. Earlier this month Townsend was said to have met with Rafa Benitez to discuss a new and improved deal, in return for the removal of his trigger clause, but his time Tyneside could now be coming to an end. The Guardian claim Palace are targeting up-to three players including Belgium and Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi after Marouane Chamakh and Emmanuel Adebayor were released.

Liverpool are expected to announce the signing of Senegalese star Sadio Mane today after agreeing a £30million move from managerless Southampton.

Following extended negotiations and the signing of Nathan Redmond from Norwich, Mane has been granted a move to Anfield in a deal which could ultimately be worth up-to £36million. Mane was pictured having his medical on Monday and becomes the third high profile departure from St Marys joining Victor Wanyama [Tottenham] and Ronald Koeman [Everton] as the south coast side once again proves itself to be a hive of summer transfer activity. Mane arrives off the back of another solid season [11-goals and six assists], if not, frustratingly inconsistent on occasions to become the fourth addition to the Liverpool squad. Mane is the fifth Southampton player to arrive on Merseyside within the past two-seasons following in the footsteps of Dejan Lovren, Nathaniel Clyne, Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert.

Ashley Williams is expected to be available to face Belgium in one of the biggest games in Wales national team history.

The Swansea City captain went down with a shoulder injury after colliding with Jonny Williams against Northern Ireland, but manager Chris Coleman said he expects the defender to be fit for the quarterfinals: "We think it was when he fell and landed on his hand with a straight arm which had an impact on his shoulder," Coleman said. "But he is okay. Ashley will be fine. It sounds better actually, that he would play with a dislocated shoulder - and he would if we let him. But it was not...'I would not say he was a worry or a doubt, but we know we have to look after him. I would be surprised if he does not make the game.''

Gylfi Sigurdsson and Iceland have continued their dream tournament with a 2-1 knockout stage win over England on Monday and will face France in the quarterfinals.

England won a 4th minute penalty through Raheem Sterling that Wayne Rooney put into the bottom right corner of the Iceland goalkeeper's net and it looked like the giants would slay the minnows without much trouble. From there the script flipped almost immediately as Iceland immediately came down the pitch after the restart and won a throw. From a long throw, they got a header into the box that was rocketed past Joe Hart by Ragnar Sigurdsson. A mere 12 minutes later Iceland took the lead on a shot from the top of the box by Kolbeinn Sigthorsson that Joe Hart got his left hand on but couldn't keep out of the net. From there it was a dire attempt by the Three Lions to come back that never looked likely to succeed. Another in a long line of failed international competitions for the English.

Italy may have entered Euro 2016 without much fanfare or backing from the pundits, but they are turning heads with each passing match, today completely outclassing two-time defending European champions Spain, 2-0.

Antonio Conte, who will be taking over at Chelsea this season, will have plenty of hype when he begins his career at Stamford Bridge, as he and the Italian side were tactically brilliant, frustrating a Spain side that normally excels at possession and passing. Emanuele Giaccherini, who has been fantastic in the Euro fantasy game, put up another fine score by grabbing a clean sheet and assisting the first goal, scored by Giorgio Cheillini after David de Gea spilled the initial free kick attempt. The second goal didn't come until added time, when Graziano Pelle struck one on the volley when Italy were on the counter-attack. Thought to be one of the weaker sides Italy have brought to a major tournament in quite some time, they prove again that they are masterful at tournament play.

Spain's tournament ends more quickly than most would have imagined, getting knocked out in the round of 16 by a magnificent Italian side with a 2-0 loss.

This was a really tough draw for the first round of the knockout stage as two of the historically best tournament teams went up against each other and one had to go home. It was deservedly Spain that did, as Italy outplayed them thoroughly. David De Gea came up with two huge saves in the first 11 minutes but a save from a free kick was not cleared away and Italy pounces on the loose ball to take the lead. De Gea may have been at fault for the goal, but he also single-handedly kept Spain in it with a couple more top-drawer stops. In the end, the Spanish attack could not break down Italy, with just an occasional flash of hope for Andres Iniesta, while PL players like David Silva and Cesc Fabregas offered very little. Gerard Pique had a chance to level the score on 89 minutes but his shot from 8 yards was stopped by veteran Gianluigi Buffon. Italy then added a second goal moments later to put the game to bed.

Belgium didn't look great in the group stage but they exploded when it mattered in the knockout stages with a 4-0 win over Hungary today.

It was four goals from four players as Belgium went up early through Toby Alderweireld in the tenth minute. They didn't score again until late but then the floodgates opened with goals from Batshuayi, Hazard and Carrasco. On the easier side of the bracket, Belgium have to be the current favorites to at least reach the finals.

Alexis Sanchez wasn't on the field for penalties but he and his teammates won the Copa America for the second consecutive summer in penalties over Argentina.

It was a similar script to last summer with New Jersey playing the role of Santiago. It was a hotly contested match that saw two first half red cards and numerous yellows. There were no goals but plenty of talking points. Ultimately it came down to penalties where Arturo Vidal and Lionel Messi traded misses and Lucas Biglia had his attempt saved to make the difference in the match.

Chris Coleman is expected to provide an update on Ashley Williams during today’s press conference after the Wales skipper injured his shoulder during Saturday’s last-16 win over Northern Ireland.

Williams collided heavily with team-mate Jonny Williams deep into the second half but managed to see the game out after receiving lengthy treatment. However, the Swansea central defender was sent for a scan on Sunday to determine the extent of the damage and is rated as touch and go for the upcoming quarter-final with Belgium. "The next 24 to 48 hours will be key, whether it's bruising and just impact, or whether there's damage to any ligaments or a tear in his muscle," said the Wales boss post-match. "We won't really know until [Sunday], but he was struggling, couldn't move his arm." If Williams fails to recover then West Ham’s James Collins is expected to step into the fray with Aaron Ramsey taking the captains armband.

Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland has been given the green light to step up his recovery from a fractured ankle after test results came back all-clear.

Butland missed out on a place at Euro 2016 after breaking his ankle on international duty in March. Now, after three months, the 23-year-old has been told he can move onto the next phase of his rehabilitation with a view to re-joining his team-mates for pre-season. Butland posted an update via his personal Twitter account: "Had my final scan and have been given the all clear by the surgeon! Now I can push on and be fully fit for pre-season!" The news will provide a welcome boost to Stoke boss Mark Hughes whose season took a dramatic downturn following the loss of his No.1 goalkeeper. Back-up Jakob Haugaard conceded 9-times from his four starts, meanwhile, Shay Given ended up losing 4-nil in two of his three games after battling back from a knee injury.

It appears as though Stoke City will emerge as the victor in the Premier League race to sign Saido Berahino this summer.

Reports across England claim West Bromwich Albion has accepted a £16 million bid for the 22-year-old as the Potters will offer a long-term contract and a wage package worth £70,000-a-week. The Baggies originally shot down Stoke City's offer of £15 million earlier this week in the hopes of getting more in return for Berahino. But after failing to land a better deal, they came back to the bargaining table. Berahino scored only four Premier League goals last season after 14 the season prior, drawing £20 million-plus bids from Spurs and Newcastle.
