Gary Hooper is finally healthy and has made a significant contribution to Norwich's campaign with the lone goal against Crystal Palace.

Norwich City have been poor thus far this season but they got the required three points on offer with the visit of even poorer Crystal Palace. Gary Hooper turned home Wes Hoolahan's pass from just above the six yard box in the 30th minute and the Canaries held on to move up to 14th in the table at least temporarily. It was hardly a win with style but Norwich will take points however they can get them at this point.

Phil Jones has arrived back at the Carrington Training Complex following his release from the England squad.

Gareth Southgate confirmed on Tuesday that Jones had sustained a foot injury in training and would be returning to his club for further tests. "It was an innocuous tackle and he caught the bottom of somebody's foot. We'll know more over the next 24 to 48 hours," the Three Lions manager confirmed. Initial reports suggest that the Manchester United centre-back suffered a broken toe in a challenge with club and international teammate Chris Smalling, and if confirmed, Jones is likely to miss around six weeks ruling him out of key FA Cup, Europa League and Premier League matches. With nine games scheduled for April, Jose Mourinho can ill-afford to lose a key member of his squad, but at least United are well-stocked in this area with the aforementioned Smalling, Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo and Eric Bailly all capable of playing in the heart of defence.

Alexis Sanchez is expected to line-up against Argentina in the early hours of Thursday morning after being cleared to play in the World Cup qualifier.

The Arsenal supremo was rated as a major doubt on Saturday after he was forced off because of an ankle problem at West Brom, an injury which manager Arsène Wenger described as "terrible" amid fears that he had sustained ligament damage. However, following ongoing tests in Chile, it now looks like Sanchez is ready to be patched up for the decisive game in Buenos Aires: "The last news I have is that it was only the kick. I don't know if his ligament was damaged or not - it was swollen so hard to assess after the game - but it looks positive," Wenger told beIN Sports. The news will come as huge relief for Arsenal supporters who had feared that their talismanic attacker would miss the remainder of the season, although they must now contend with Sanchez playing another 180 minutes before the Premier League fixture against Man City on April 02.

Jamie Vardy, Kasper Schmeichel and Andy King could all take part in European World Cup qualification during the fourth international break of the 2016/17 season.

Almost a year to the date since Vardy scored his first international goal in a 3-2 victory over the current World Cup champions in Berlin, City's No.9 will look to make his 15th appearance for England when they face Germany on Wednesday. The trip to Germany will then be followed by a 2018 World Cup qualifier clash with Lithuanina at Wembley on Sunday. While England will aim to kept their place atop Group F, goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel will look to extend his stellar form onto the international stage with Denmark in Group E when they host Romania on Sunday at Telia Parken Stadium. Meanwhile, Welshman Andy King could make club history when his nation faces the Republic of Ireland on Friday. An appearance for King in the WCQ in Dublin would break John O'Neill's record of 39 international appearances as a Leicester City player.

Thibaut Courtois has handed the Premier League leaders a massive boost by claiming he won't be at Real Madrid next season and would be open to signing a new contract at Stamford Bridge.

Courtois has been subject of significant interest from Real Madrid over the course of the last year, but reaffirmed his commitment to Chelsea when asked whether he would play for Real next season. "No," Courtois told Spanish outlet Cerdena Ser radio, "I don't see myself at Real Madrid. I see myself at Chelsea, the club that six years ago saw me playing in Belgium and gave me the opportunity to sign for them." Although Courtois has yet to be offered an extension to his current contract, which expires in 2019, the Belgium goalkeeper said he would like to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge. "We will see at the end of the season if they offer me something. For the time being, there has not been an offer," he added. "I'm happy in London and I'm delighted with the success we are having this season."

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said the club is waiting on the full extent of Alexis Sanchez's ankle injury.

Early reports suggest that Sanchez did not sustain any serious damage and is expected to take part in the upcoming internationals with Chile, much to the chagrin of Arsenal fans and fantasy managers. Wenger said Sanchez shouldn't have played on in the club's 3-1 loss to West Brom on Saturday, but the former Barcelona man insisted: "He was injured from the tackle in the first half. It was a bad tackle. His ankle is in an absolutely terrible state. He should not have played in the second half but he insisted that he wanted to come out....Chile goes to Argentina for a massive game but they play only next week and if it's only a kick, he will play. If the ligament is damaged, he will not play."

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes confirmed that the club has agreed to a fee with Porto for Bruno Martins Indi.

The Dutch international has impressed immensely in his season on loan from the Portuguese giants, making 27 appearances for the Potters this term. And now it looks like the two sides have reached an agreement over turning his loan into a permanent deal once Stoke agrees to personal terms with the defender. Said Hughes: "There's an agreement in terms of a fee. It's just about making sure Bruno understands where we are going and what our ambitions are and hopefully he'll want to be part of that. I think we are very close. There's hope on all sides that we get it done."

Mesut Ozil's miserable 2017 continues as he will miss out on the Germany-England friendly on Wednesday with a hamstring issue.

Ozil has been missing recently for Arsenal due to an illness. Unless it was a severe illness, the week-to-week details of his situation don't necessarily seem to match up. He missed matches against Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Lincoln City and West Brom with the illness being the only definitive report available. If illness transitioned to hamstring injury it happened without a definitive report to that effect on the team web site which lists only Elneny and Cazorla as absentees. Between Ozil and Sanchez absences things are exceptionally fishy on the transparency front at Arsenal right now.

Romelu Lukaku didn't do himself any favors with Everton fans with last week's comments over his concerns about winning trophies on Merseyside.

It looks increasingly likely by the week that Lukaku will leave the club this summer despite weeks of contract talks, which left his agent Mino Raiola to say the deal was "99.9 percent done." Now Lukaku seems to have gotten cold feet over signing a new deal with Chelsea among the clubs being linked with a move for the Premier League's top scorer, who has questioned Everton's transfer policy this year. "No disrespect, but you want to remembered as well. You cannot only be remembered by scoring goals, you want to be remembered by winning trophies," Lukaku said. "...I don't know what the board's plan is, but there were some players I knew the club could have got and they didn't, and they're playing in this league. I am not saying names, but they are doing well. It is a little bit frustrating but, at the end of the day, we have fantastic players. We cannot look at the others, we can only look at ourselves."

Kyle Walker has played down injury fears after he was substituted during the 2-1 win over Southampton.

The Tottenham full-back had been a slight doubt heading into the game due to an ankle problem, but Walker was cleared after coming through the final training session unscathed. However, the 26-year-old was withdrawn with a little over 10 minutes remaining on Sunday and the medical team were seen inspecting the right wrist of Walker who appeared to be in some discomfort. But, Pochettino was quick to play down any suggestion of a serious injury: "My decision was not for that [an injury]," he said post-match. "We saw when he was out he had a problem with his thumb. But I don't believe it's a big thing." The player himself then posted an update via his personal Twitter account to allay any concerns: ‘Thanks for all the messages, I'm ok!! Looking forward to joining up with England’. The Three Lions face Germany in Dortmund on Wednesday evening.

Victor Moses has joined up with his international teammates in London, although he is expected to leave the group because of injury.

Moses had been a doubt during the build-up to the game versus Stoke, but the Chelsea winger managed to come through 70 minutes at the Bet365 Stadium as the champions elect secured another valuable three-points on the road. However, following the game, Chelsea informed the Nigerian Football Federation that Moses was struggling with a minor calf injury and the 26-year-old is expected to be withdrawn from the squad for the upcoming friendlies against Senegal and Burkina Faso. The extent of the problem is not yet known, but with Eden Hazard [also calf] facing a race against time to be fit for game week 30 [vs Crystal Palace], Antonio Conte can ill-afford to lose another one of his star performers.
Mar 21 - 5:44 AM

Belgium manager Roberto Martinez confirms Eden Hazard could spend between 10-15 days on the sidelines because of injury.

The Chelsea play maker failed to travel to Stoke after feeling discomfort in his calf during the final training session on the eve of the game. Antonio Conte revealed Hazard had suffered a "minor muscle problem" but it now looks like 26-year-old is rated as touch and go for the visit of Crystal Palace on April 01. "Eden has suffered an injury before the match against Stoke, it does not look so serious," Martinez said. "But he will not play against Greece. We are going to follow the injury." His absence at the Bet365 Stadium handed Willian a rare Premier League start, and the Brazilian served a timely reminder of what the Chelsea fans had been missing as he fired home a trademark free-kick past the hapless Lee Grant after only 13 minutes.
