Spurs and England full-back Kyle Walker has undergone "lower abdominal surgery" in an attempt to cure an ongoing pelvic problem.

The Tottenham defender last played competitively over five months ago and was said to be close to a return to first team action with new coach Mauricio Pochettino even confirming he would undergo a late fitness on the eve of this season’s opener at West Ham. However the club have now decided following further specialist assessment that Walker will have a surgical procedure to correct the issue with no timescale given on his return. With news that Eric Dier has withdrawn from the England Under-21 squad today due to injury Tottenham are now sweating on the fitness of their new signing with only Kyle Naughton available as a potential replacement.

Robin van Persie has dismissed claims as "total nonsense" following reports in the British press earlier this week that the Manchester United striker required surgery.

On Sunday several U.K. based tabloids ran an article confirming the talismanic Dutch forward was managing a condition linked to a previous knee ligament injury and that surgery would be the ONLY way he could return to full fitness. Robin van Persie has flatly denied any problem "I am impressed that people have the imagination to make something like that up" and has vowed to fight for his place in the United starting line-up following the surprise deadline day signing of Radamel Falcao.

The deal that sends Radamel Falcao to Manchester United has finally been confirmed.

The striker joins Manchester on a year-long loan with the option to buy afterwards. The loan fee is rumored to be around £6m, but Falcao's high wages can push the deal to be worth around £20m for the year. The deal comes at the end of the day after rumors had been thrown around all day about the deal being off due to multiple different reasons. It is now confirmed by Manchester United and all major media outlets. It is definitely a surprising move as a striker had not seemed to be a priority position for United to fill and there will be questions raised regarding Louis van Gaal's ability to fit Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, Falcao, Juan Mata and £60million record signing Angel Di Maria in to a balanced starting XI. Louis van Gaal has also promised to play Daley Blind and Ander Herrera in midfield so it will be very interesting to see Manchester's starting XI in their next Premier League match.

Arsenal have signed Manchester United forward Danny Welbeck for a fee of £16m.

The striker will be expected to contribute right away as Olivier Giroud is out for a few months and Arsenal are desperate for production at the striker position. Yaya Sanogo was horrible over the weekend and is not good enough to be leading Arsenal if they expect to contend for the title. Welbeck can be a very good fantasy option if he can get into form, as he has a great collection of midfielders behind him. Hopeful Arsenal fans are expecting Welbeck to turn into something similar to Daniel Sturridge, but we expect Welbeck to be less lethal and we don't think he'll ever reach Sturridge's level in fantasy or real life.

Hull City have completed a move for Newcastle midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa.

The midfielder will be at Hull until the end of the season. That completes a very good transfer window for Hull, who have also signed Gaston Ramirez, Mohamed Diame, and Abel Hernandez today. Ben Arfa was great for Newcastle last season and is almost guaranteed to start at Hull. He is an exciting player who can create and finish chances and will be an interesting fantasy option in a revamped Hull City team.

Tom Lawrence has completed a move to Leicester City for a £1m fee and has signed a four year contract.

You may remember the ex-Manchester United forward from his Premier League debut last season. He was given a chance by interim manager Ryan Giggs and scored three goals in the last three matches of a the season, including a brace on the final day against Stoke City. We are not sure if the forward will be a starter at Leicester but we think he was brought there to provide depth. If he does end up starting, he could have sneaky fantasy value in deeper leagues.

Southampton have acquired defender Toby Alderweireld from Atletico Madrid on a season-long loan.

This is a great move the Saints, who have just reinforced their defense with a number of signings. Alderweireld can play both center-back and right-back, and it's unclear where he'll play at the moment. The Saints have Jose Fonte locked in as a starter and recently acquired center-back Florin Gardos to partner him, so there may not be a place for Alderweireld there. At right-back, they have Nathaniel Clyne, who has played well going forward this season, but can be a liability on defense. Regardless of where he plays, we expect Alderweireld to start and be a good fantasy option for managers.

Southampton have signed forward Sadio Mane from Red Bull Salzburg.

Saints boss Ronald Koeman has said that Mane can play both centrally or as a wing but it's more likely he lines up out wide. New Saints striker Graziano Pelle has played well centrally and Mane will likely support him from out wide. It's unknown whether Mane will replace Shane Long on the left or James Ward-Prowse on the right, but you can expect some sort of rotation throughout the season. Mane has scored 45 goals in 87 matches throughout the last two seasons and can be a good fantasy value as Southampton seem to have a good attack once again.

Manchester City have agreed to a season long loan of Alvaro Negredo to Valencia with a commitment by the Spanish club to agreee to an eventual permanent move for a transfer fee believed to be in the neighborhood of £30million.

With the emergence of Stevan Jovetic this season, Negredo found himself fourth in the pecking order at the striker position and this move should give him more playing time. Valencia will have to wait a bit for his services as he currently recovering from a foot injury. Obviously, there must be mitigating circumstances around this deal but if all goes according to plan, Negredo will be officially out of the Premier League to begin next season.

Queens Park Rangers have Niko Kranjcar for a second season on loan after an agreement was made with parent club Dynamo Kyiv.

Kranjcar was a successful loanee at Loftus Road last season, helping Harry Redknapp guide the club to promotion from the Championship. Of course, the two have a history going back to Redknapp's days at Tottenham. Speaking of Spurs, former teammate Sandro will be in midfield as well. Sandro's spot in midfield would appear fairly nailed on, then Joey Barton and Leroy Fer come into contention, so it may be difficult for Kranjcar to crack the starting lineup without someone dropping form or getting hurt.

Hull City have signed Southampton midfielder Gaston Ramirez on a season-long loan.

Ramirez is a very capable midfielder/winger who has been a regular off the bench at Southampton in the past year. New boss Ronald Koeman apparently didn't have him in his plans, so he has sent him out on loan until the end of the season. Ramirez should be a starter at Hull and will have the opportunity to be a fantasy contributor, so he is definitely someone to keep an eye out on.
